  • Our stay with Kathrein was our favorite B&B of the trip! She was lovely, her dog Harry was a charmer and the house was comfortable, cozy and we felt very at home. Her breakfast was great and allowed us to skip lunch saving money. The location was great and allowed us to visit some of the smaller neighboring towns, The Cliffs of Moher and the Burren as well as Galway.

I can't recommend it enough, and thank you so much to Kathrein!

  • Honestly, staying with Kathrein was one of the top highlights of my trip! Not only was the room absolutely amazing, but Kathrein was a wonderful host. She made me feel so welcome, and I wish I could have stayed longer. I would recommend staying here to anyone…and if I am ever going through the area again, I would love to! Was an amazing find and so glad I was able to spend my time there.

    Hallo Jessalyn,
    Thanks for enjoying your stay!
You must have made it safely back to Dublin...
All the best for the rest of your life!

  • We had a wonderful time at Kathrein's place! Beautiful and picturesque, very quiet and private, and a good location from which to visit some of the local sites. Kathrein was friendly and knowledgeable, and she served our favorite Irish breakfast we had on the entire trip. We highly recommend her bnb!

  • I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Kathreins home. It was exactly the stay I was hoping to have and it was exactly what I thought a stay in Ireland would be. Kathrein, her neighbors and her friends are all extraordinary people that make you feel welcome and at home. I truly felt as if I had known them all for years. Kathrein supplies you with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. The room was delightful as well as the en suite bathroom. Everything was clean and comfortable. The breakfast options are vast, all of which are delicious. I enjoyed every meal at Kathreins. Her and her son went out of their way to pick me up at the bus stop when I arrived and a lovely neighbor of hers drove me to the bus stop when I was departing. Since I didn't have a car I only stayed for several days, but even without a vehicle I enjoyed the lovely walk to the pier and through the countryside. If you have a vehicle there is plenty to see just a short distance away. I had the pleasure of meeting so many great people during my stay and it has surely been the best experience of my trip so far. I highly suggest staying at Kathreins lovely home, even if just for a night. I can't recommend it enough!

Thank you very much for your praise! It was lovely meeting you and talking to you! I hope you find the right solution to heat your home!

  • "Charming" doesn't even begin to explain how wonderful Kathrein's home and hospitality were. She went out of her way to make sure I had a lovely time on the west coast and at her house. I had poor weather while there, but it really didn't matter. There was a nice warm fire going each night and I was greeted each morning with a delicious and filling breakfast. I would absolutely recommend Kathrein's house to any traveler looking for a genuine Irish experience!

  • Kathrein was such a wonderful host! Her home is so charming and welcoming. She is very friendly and we immediately felt at ease. My husband and I stayed during New Years Eve and she gave us some great recommendations to hear some live music in the nearby town of Kinvara. She also made us a fabulous Irish breakfast!

She has the cutest dog named, Harry. He is one of the most well behaved and friendly dogs I've met.

About
I grew up in Germany and via a six year stint in London came to the West coast of Ireland. Along the way I was teaching, designing knitwear restoring old buildings and hosting guests in a holiday cottage. I love reading, art & crafts, gardening, travel and entertaining friends around a table of good food and wine.
