  • The hosts are delightful and very gracious. Rita and Ricardo will go out of their way to be helpful. The cottage is visually interesting and very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay there. If you're looking for a quiet country experience this would be a great place to book.

  • Possibly the most beautiful place to stay in Umbria. Ricardo and Rita are divine. So so peaceful, and sitting under grapevines looking out over olive groves sipping espresso sums up il borghetto di bazzano. We could have stayed longer and will definitely recommend.

  • We had a fantastic time at Il Borgehetto di Bazzano. Rita's instructions to get there were perfect and all of Ricardo's help and advice was so appreciated. Ricardo helped us book some accommodation in Venice that we would not have picked ourselves but it was on of the highlights of the trip. Thankyou so much. We hope that one day we can come back (hopefulloy with better Italian!)

  • Rita and Riccardo were wonderful hosts! They went the extra mile helping us navigate Umbria and driving us to a rental car business in Spoleto. The apartment was beautiful and the scenery spectacular. We hope to return someday and stay a bit longer.

  • This was the absolute perfect Umbrian Hideaway. Nestled in the hillside with a view of the valley, we loved our stay at Bazzano. It was perfect for my wife and I and we look forward to returning this summer. Riccardo and Rita were also wonderful hosts, offering to help with any travel or logistical details. Best kept secret in Umbria!

  • I'm very honored to be the first to review Il Borghetto di Bazzano. The property is absolutely amazing and the views are just stunning!! Rita was a fantastic host, and although we didn't actually get to meet, she was very responsive to our emails during our stay.

Adriana, the lovely neighbor who greeted us upon check-in was available during our stay and was very helpful with any questions or concerns we had.

The farmhouse itself was extremely clean, and it truly felt like we were staying in a luxury hotel! I can't wait to return here in the (hopefully) near future!

About
Riccardo and I were borrn in Roma, where we lived and worked until a couple of years ago. We had the wish of spending part of our time in a quiet country village. In 2001 we visited the "Borghetto" when it wasn't yet the Borghetto of today. The property, abandoned for several years, was in very bad conditions. The water entered trough the roof of the house and it was at risk to break down.... but it had for us the attraction that only old mansions can have, as they tells us many things about happiness and sorrow preserved among their walls. We started a restoration of the property, conducted by qualified architects. The results was very good, as you can see in the pictures. Now, we spend most of our time in this wonderful historical Umbrian area. We can enjoy our preferred hobbies (reading, listening music, painting, biking, doing walking in open air), in a very slow rithm of life. Frequently, friends come and visit us, but we enjoy so much receiving hosts coming from every country, sharing with them the views and the unique beauties of umbrian landscapes and cities.
