Our stay at Blue Heaven was simply perfect. The host has made sure you have all you need for a wonderful, peaceful stay, but you still have the ability to be connected if needed with internet, phone and cable. There is even a washer and dryer which is very handy if you are tryi…
We were greeted by the hosts when we pulled into the driveway. The hosts were staying right next door in the blue building you see to the right of Blue Heaven. They escorted us inside and gave us info regarding the heat. The screened in porch had a million dollar view of the bay…
Response from Judy:
Blue Heaven is very clean and IS and HAS BEEN deep cleaned on a regular basis. It is over 100 years old and has been totally renovated and refreshed constantly. We have never had a negative comment in 15 years. The previous renter found the umbrella on the sidewalk downtown . It was covered in spider webs and dust. They threw it in the umbrella can. We thought they took it with them. The umbrella can is free of dust -- the umbrella itself was not clean. It too is very old and perhaps the galvanized surface does not look clean but it is. The countertop had one coffeemaker on it -- that is all -- nothing else. The Hoosier cabinet had stacked canisters, a toaster, a recipe book stand and the ginger jar with three cinnamons sticks in it. It is a large surface and was not cluttered. The dryer does not have rust in it. The element overheated and the heat caused discoloration. The faulty element was replaced and no further problems. Upon greeting the guests, we explained there are two trash cans in the kitchen -- one for recycling and we told them what was recyclable -- and the other for kitchen trash. They could decide which one to use for what. Again, the cottage is a 100 year old structure and when we bought it, it only had the original claw foot tub upstairs. We had the shower put in downstairs. Really?? !
Our hosts left us the keys and the door unlocked. Judy happened to be home to greet us. We felt welcomed and comfortable from the start. The beauty of the view left us speechless. We kept high 5-ing ourselves for such a great place to stay.
