Located on one side of a well established modular home with cultivated grounds, this private suite has a great view of Sleeping Ute Mountain, sacred to the Ute people. 2 queen beds and a futon in the living room that converts to a full bed, with all new 100% cotton linens and towels, this suite comfortably sleeps 5. A full bath with tub, a cozy gas fireplace inside for cool evenings, a fully stocked kitchen and a gas grill with dining on your private patio makes Sleeping Ute a great base camp.

The space
Located on an archaeological and horticultural preserve, our self-guided tour book takes you to Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi) ruins right on the property. 38 acres in sculpted red rock McElmo Canyon offers private access to Canyons of the Ancients. Hiking, exploring, and relaxing are favorite things to do. Enjoy a glass of local wine or a cold microbeer while watching the birds in the Spanish style courtyard.

We have opened several dwellings on the property that have cooking facilities so that our guests can be independent while enjoying all that surrounds while we upgrade. We wish to share this special place with you and offer clean rooms, excellent coffee, lots of hot water mixed in with immense love and awe of the land and it's heritage.

During your stay

We ( Allison and Cindy) live on the property and are around and about should you need anything. You will likely see us if and when you come to the lodge area where we have the available WIFI, and our office. We are often working the land and can been seen pulling weeds, running the tractor, listening to bird song and observing the sky, and sometimes looking awe struck! We have an intercom at the office should you need to reach us after hours. We are nice!
