The farm house was an absolute delight. The furniture and decor are perfect and beds very comfortable. We have a fantastic time and will certainly return one day. A great place.
Had a wonderful weekend getaway, in large part due to the lovely home. Annemarie was also helpful in providing information on the local area which is full of excellent wineries to visit. They were very flexible in accommodating our late arrival from Lyon. Would definitely return to the charming, cozy farmhouse.
We had a wonderful time at the renovated farmhouse. Exceeded our expectations!
Big surprise when we exited highway A6 coming from Paris. First local village was Saint-Loup de Varennes, the home of Nicéphore Niépce, the INVENTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY! Since we're photo buffs, we spent some time exploring the village. Also visiting the local vineyards, wineries and cheese farms was very enjoyable and educational. Everyone we met was very friendly and helpful.
Beautiful french town and a charming house. My wife and daughter and I had a great stay and loved the house and location. We would gladly return.
Gorgeous house in a beautiful part of France. Newly renovated, clean, fully stocked, roomy, and with super comfortable beds. It was perfect. Philippe was very helpful. Communication with him and Annemarie was excellent. We visited the sites and nearby villages that Annemarie recommended and had an absolutely wonderful time. We're back home now and already missing the farmhouse! Hope to go back soon.
Best place we stayed on our honeymoon. My simple advice, just book it and enjoy. The house was a rustic beauty, we were spoiled by it. Beautifully updated and decorated, all the modern conveniences with tons of charm. Location was great for us to get out and explore Southern Burgundy. I cannot speak highly enough. Annemarie was wonderful and we liked our host Phillipe so much we even stopped by his antique shop for a few items. We were terribly sad to leave but will definitely be coming back.
Great place, really nice location and quite easy to find.
The closest village is only about a 5 minute drive away which is really convenient
The house is absolutely lovely, in beautiful countryside. It is a very old building, full of charm, and inside it is cosy and well furnished, with everything you need. The owners are very nice and extremely helpful. Highly recommended.
We spent 10 wonderful days with our son, his wife, and three daughters in Annemarie's farmhouse, and it was perfect for us. It's as wonderful as pictures show it, and even better with a fire blazing in the fireplace, something simmering on the stove, and games spread out on the coffee table. It's so livable you never worry about children. She has it very well stocked, and comfortably furnished.
If you're an early riser, you can watch the sun rise behind small pastures of sheep, and cows, eating the frosty morning grass. You have to pinch yourself that it's real!
We enjoyed Sercy's very own medieval chateau ( just walking around; no tours) the nearby town of St. Gengeoux, and a bit farther off is Tournus, and the amazing Cluny which was for a time the very center of Christendom. Besides the recreated abbey (destroyed during the Revolution) museum it also has a very good produce market and so-so Flea market. We thought our trip to Beaune one day, and visit to the Hospice museum, was well worth the trip. Don't count on fine dining in this area, though there are a few restaurants. It's a real country experience which is pretty amazing!
The owner has a few bugs she's working out, and be sure to get instructions on how to operate the clothes dryer (it's different), and where to stash your trash. Ask for dry, seasoned firewood, too.
Annemarie's farm is extremely peaceful and spacious. We had a hard time leaving the farm to explore the amazing Burgundy region! We highly recommend this property.
