I am new to airbnb, but I am looking forward to getting started. I have a special low rate on the room for a few months while I build up my feedback.
A large bedroom with queen sized bed, desk and closet. Room is super spacious at 11x13 feet (3.4x4 meters) and has an ultra comfy full size bed with bedding and pillows.
It comes with a bike, helmet (ride safe!) to ride around the city with. It also comes with free wifi and with a gelato shop downstairs.
The room doesn't have any windows but its not a big deal because the living room certainly does and in the summer there (email hidden) that keeps the place cool.
10 mins to atlantic terminal, a major subway hub serving the NQR,45,BD,23 trains. Getting into manhattan is super easy and flexible.
The Brooklyn Museum and botanical garden a quick walk away and prospect park is too!
Coffee and laundry across the street and a supermarket one block down.
If you are parking, you can find street parking in the neighborhood pretty easily, just watch out for street cleaning days on the signs.
The apartment has a separate kitchen, guests welcome to cook.
Couples of all gender varieties welcome.
Also I speak some Icelandic and Spanish. Sometimes useful (the former less often).
The reservation was canceled 8 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Hmm where to start. Well Adam is a super nice guy and really helpful. When the key wasn't working he gave me his set instead and whenever his friends dropped by or stayed over he would always introduce them. Everyone I met has been super nice.
His place is situated in Park Slope right on 5th ave. You've got bars, restaurants, independent stores, laundromats and supermarkets all within walking distance. His place is around an 8 min walk to Barclays center which gives you access to to the D, R, F, N, Q, 2, 3, 4 and 5 lines.
I'm kind of obsessed with drinking juices so every morning I would go to Brooklyn Crepe & Juice which is about 10 steps away and get one before work (their crepes are amazing as well). And Prospect Park is just a 15 min walk away (great place for a weekend run). Oh yea and there are these lovely brownstones all around Park Slope.
If you are looking to stay somewhere in NY I would highly recommend you get in touch with Adam.
I stayed with Adam for 6 months and I couldn't have had a better experience. The neighborhood is comfortable and walkable. Great food, places to hang out, things to do - transport hub down the road at Atlantic Terminal. This stint in New York was temporary, but I'm coming back permanently in September. I know I'll have a good friend when I get back.
I stayed in Adam's room in May and overall I had a a very good experience. The neighborhood (Brooklyn 5th Avenue) is easily accessible by public transport, Atlantic Avenue subway station is well-connected to Manhattan and it's only an 8 min walk from the apartment. It's also a beautiful area to walk around, eat out and do some window shopping! The apartment itself is in good condition, i got the bigger room (thanks! :-) and the bed is very comfy! Adam is very helpful with sorting out everything, he even gave me his travel card to use over the week + the bike was very useful too to discover Brooklyn (i didn't dare to ride to Manhattan :-) All in all, I'd be happy to recommend the place!
Adam and I have been friends for nearly ten years and I absolutely love staying at his sunny apartment in Park Slope when I'm visiting New York. He's one of the most wonderfully interesting, friendly people ever and knows all the best places to eat, drink and have fun.
Adam's place on 5th is clean, sunny, and comfortable. The location is simply to die for — it's surrounded by incredible restaurants and bars, a short walk from Prospect Park, and super-close to lots of major subway stops, which make getting into the city so, so easy. (Seriously, you can get to Penn Station in about 30 minutes.) Plus, the neighborhood is very safe, so you'll feel comfortable even if it's your first time in Brooklyn.
Whether staying a quick night for meetings in Midtown, or spending a long relaxing weekend in Brooklyn, this spot is delightful!
Highly recommend Adam and his apartment. Here's why.
Park Slope is a great neighborhood, and the spot Adam is in is very well located. Within one block are: a dry cleaner, a laundromat with wash & fold service (drop off in the morning, pick up that night), a market, Zagats rated burger, pie and a range of other restaurants. Seamless offers great options in this neighborhood too.
In addition, Bierkraft is in the next block--hundreds of craft and European brews and cask brewed beer on tap you can take home in a growler. The wagyu roast beef sandwiches are recommended.
Most importantly, I picked this place because it is less than five minutes walking to Brooklyn Boulders, the best climbing gym in the city.
Manhattan is quite close, and downtown is more accessible from here than from the Upper West or Upper East sides. Union Station for the N and R is a few minutes away. A major express stop, Atlantic Avenue, is a 10 minute walk. On the Q, Union Square is three express stops away.
The room in the apartment works great. Bed is fine. Adam keeps is clean, is friendly and is a great chat over a beer. Great host and experience! I liked the arrangement so I extended.
Barclays Center is a 10 minute walk.
