Check In
  • Our first experience with Airbnb, and it was perfect. Margarette has kept the place immaculate, with attention to details of every comfort you'll find in a 4 star hotel and more. My girlfriend actually preferred their home over the Marriott in downtown Burlington, she checked out of the day before. Highly recommended.

  • Very comfortable. An easy short drive from Burlington center. The living room was equipped with coffee, tea, and munchies. The bedrooms were comfortable. A few minutes using the fan in the larger bedroom (visible in the photo) were plenty to cool and freshen the room, on an early-autumn evening. Margarette was very gracious and helpful.

    Response from Margarette:

Thanks for the feedback. George has been trying to understand the problem with the drain in the bathroom. Now that we have guests upstairs we should change the nails for hooks.
It was a pleasure to have you stay . I would have set the trundle bed up for you if I had known you needed both beds. You made a reservation for two and your reservation should have been for three. I felt bad that you had to set the room up. I did not know you needed both bedrooms. I always try to have the rooms ready.
No worries, just let me know if you decide you want to stay with us again.

  • My best Airbnb experience yet. The place was comfy, clean and cozy. Best of all, right off the beach and the sweetest hosts imaginable. Highly recommend.

  • My family (2 adults and two small children) had a great time staying in Margarette's home. With two bedrooms plus a living room (plus 1.5 baths), we had plenty of space and were very comfortable. The master bedroom was large, and the second bedroom even had a chest full of toys and a bookshelf full of children's books. My preschool-age daughter was thrilled! The living room was perfect, with comfortable seating, a small refrigerator plus a microwave, toaster, and coffee maker, and was also well-stocked with books and movies. The street was nice and quiet, with easy bike trail and beach access, and plenty close to downtown.

This was our first air bnb experience, and we're sold! Highly recommended.

  • Margarette and George were the ultimate hosts - friendly, generous and easygoing. The upper floor of their house is spacious, well-appointed, and very clean. Plus, the neighborhood is perfect, being quiet, close to town, yet a 1min walk to the Lake and bikepath. What a find!

  • We had a delightful stay. The upstairs arrangement of bedrooms and sitting room was perfect for our family of four, and the access to the beach was a plus. Margarette and George were terrific hosts.

  • This was the absolutely best experience I've had with Airbnb. It's and book-lover and bicyclist's dream. The house is on a street that dead ends onto the bike path and the place is stocked with very good books. On top of that, guests are entitled to use a private beach just across the bike path.

Incredible value for three spacious rooms and one and half baths. It's the charming top floor of a nice house with lawns and garden, very private and quiet. It was immaculate with comfortable beds and linens. Margariette and George couldn't be more friendly or generous hosts. They made me feel right at home and let me store my bike and equipment in the garage.

I will definitely be back for another stay with friends.

  • Gens très charmants, dans une maison calme et tranquille tout près du lac et de la piste cyclable. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié.

  • Upstairs portion of owners home. Location is a 5 minute drive from downtown/church street/waterfront areas. Barely saw the hosts. Friendly dog, clean towels, beds were made. One room has a sofa, TV, coffee, etc., and we used that to hang out in. Older home. No Central A/C, but temps were cool and there are ceiling fans so it was OK. I did have some allergy symptoms I usually get in homes with cats, but I didn't see any cats so the symptoms may have been from something else. The extra half bath is attached to the larger bedroom with a full/queen bed, faces the back yard, nice for 1 person or a couple, the other bedroom is smaller, faces the street, with a single bed.

    Response from Margarette:

We do have a cat, so that may be why Andy had some allergy symptoms. She does not go upstairs very often, but is in the main part of the house. We do have air conditioners that we use on hot days. The guests we had before Andy had removed the air conditioner from the master bedroom, and since it had cooled down we did not put it back in.

  • Margarette and her husband George offered us the perfect space. Just outside of downtown (~2 miles) they rent the entire upstairs of their home, which borders beautiful Lake Champlain and the bike path. In addition to three rooms (2 bedrooms and a sitting room) and two baths, they’ve set-up a little kitchen to keep food storage and coffee making simple.

My boyfriend and I stayed for a two full months and were really comfortable and happy with our rental. We became very attached to the house and the pets—which don’t enter the rental area, by the way. Anytime we needed something or had a question, Margarette and George were very attentive and helpful.

For anyone who has never been to Burlington before, I would recommend that you don’t stay directly downtown. This rental is perfect because you can take advantage of the nature surrounding the “city” and you’re just a quick walk, bike or drive to the downtown activity.

I am a native Vermonter. I enjoy living in Burlington . I love all the access to the arts, bike path and Lake Champlain. I bike, swim.walk, kayak, and garden, and spend time with family and friends. In the winter my husband and I live in Sarasota, Florida. We have rented our home with great success during our absence in the winter. We have maintained interesting and long term relationships with our renters. We are empty nesters so we enjoy meeting travelers and sharing our this special place we call home.
