The space

Experience authentic, Balinese life. The Payogan Homestay Villa is located within our traditional, Balinese family compound, a 20 minute walk away from Ubud. The villa is spacious, in the traditional Balinese style. Situated at the back of the compound, overlooking a rice field and tropical plantation, the villa offers more privacy and space. However, you will still wake up to the traditional sounds of Bali and experience the essence of staying in a Balinese village.

The space includes a full kitchen and dining room, three bedrooms, an indoor living space, and a large terrace. The open-air bathroom includes a tub and shower with hot water only a turn-of-a-tap away.

Living in a Balinese family compound means that you will have many friendly, neighbors. The compound is home to a large extended family, all of whom are very involved in traditional Balinese life, and committed to our village ceremonies, many of which take place in our family temple. We welcome you to participate if you choose. In fact, we encourage our guests to join us to get the true feeling of Balinese culture. We can always help you through the experience and provide the traditional wear.

As a licensed tour guide by profession, I can provide custom guided tours according to your interests and needs. We also provide airport transfer and local transportation at a very reasonable rate - we are only a call away.

Other highlights:
- Longer stays enjoy a significantly reduced room rate.
- Breakfast and/or other meals can be provided on request for minimal cost.

Want to stay in Bali then this is exactly right place to stay in perfect Balinese way. Super supper good and friendly host you can find on AirBnB had great time. To dedicated towards his hosting role and believe me he will make you stay really memorable. You can get great home made food at really fair price and Balinese message super cheap. Never ever miss breakfast especially pancakes here. Small restaurant inside the home compound where you can relax and have couple of BINTANG BEERS

We had a fantastic stay with Ketut! Stayed in his family compound for two nights and had a delicious complimentary both days. They also offer dinner at night and massages for an extra cost. The rooms were very spacious, very clean and comfortable. It is a bit far out of Ubud - 20 minute walk, but definitely worth it.

Ketut is an amazing host and the family compound is absolutely lovely and unique. True Balinese experience. Ketut is also more hasn't willing to organize tours, transportation, and activities for you for the best price available. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality, and best wishes in the future! Terima kasih!

Ketut is the best host I've had at an air bnb stay.. Nothing was too much to ask, and the place was homely and spacious. When our group arrived Ketut was on hand to answer any questions, we had an idea of what activities we wanted to do and Ketut helped book all activities for a great price, (a tour of Ubud, seeing Rice Fields, Temples and Waterfall, and a climb of Mt. Batur). He made an effort to speak to us every day and check in that we were having a good stay and no ask seemed too much (he even helped order a pizza to the house when we it was raining after our Batur hike!). Thanks for being a great host and letting us stay in your lovely place!!

Ketut was the best host we could ever have! The apartment is surrounded by rice fields and temples, and the breakfast and dinner is great. You can buy this, as well as massage in the village, and Ketut will help you to book trips, classes, transport and whatever you need. Ketut and his family really made sure we got to get the most out of our stay in Ubud. We will miss his friendliness and hospitality.

We stayed in Ketuts Villa for about a week, and we loved it so much. The house is big and has big windows with a nice Atmosphere and big chillout Area. Ketut is a very nice person, he helped us a lot. I defenetaly recommend staying here.

If you're looking to experience a real and authentic Balinese Ubud community, then Ketut's homestay is the place for you! From day one of our initial contact Ketut was engaged and consistently in communication with us as we confirmed and finalized our trip. He was great about recommending the appropriate rental space for us on his property based on our needs; we wound up upgrading from a studio to the 3 bedroom villa when my mom decided to join us. Ketut and his family are some of the warmest and inviting folks. They are a brilliant manifestation of Balinese culture! We felt at home during our month plus stay! The banana pancakes are everything and more... well worth the rave reviews! The villa was lovely! The master bedroom and gigantic bed upstairs were amazing and allowed my partner, six month old and I to rest comfortably. The outdoor shower was fantastic - water pressure and temp were consistently good. If WiFi is a must, then you'll be happy. We were able to stream movies, make (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) calls and work online without a problem. The villa grounds and views were spectacular. The space is great for a family or a few friends who desire more space and a kitchen. Payogan is situated about 10 minutes from Ubud centre by car or scooter. The village offers a great opportunity to take in the rural and traditional Balinese life WITH added ammenties such as hot water, WiFi, etc. You get the country experience of waking up to roosters crowing alongside technology staples. If you're a foodie, there a number of tasty restaurants in Payogan or neighboring villages (Fuzion, Ubud Warung, Naughty Nuri's, Leave Room for Dessert, and Warung Tapi Tebing), so you don't need to get into the city center to enjoy a delicious meal. We were so happy with our experience at Payogan Homestay that we extended our time, albeit in one of the studio apartments, for a few more weeks. Ketut and his family (shout out to Wayan, our comedian /driver) have become people we feel we can or will call friends and will know for a long time to come! heart feels!
