Come relax!

The space
The Chardonnay room is a small bedroom with a Queen size bed and a small en-suite bathroom. The bathroom has a stand up shower, but no tub. Because these rooms are small, we've incorporated into the rental an adjacent Sun Room. The Sun Room has a wardrobe for clothing and luggage storage, and a Day Bed that can be used as a couch during the day, and a Twin size bed at night.

The bedroom has an exit door that is lockable from the inside and is also connected by a non-lockable door to the adjacent Sun Room (2nd bedroom in this rental grouping), which has an exit door lockable from the inside and outside.

Guest access
Guests of The Chardonnay Room have exclusive use of the Chardonnay bedroom, en-suite bathroom, and adjacent Sun Room.

Common areas that they and other guests will enjoy include: Parlor, Den, Dining Room, Front Porch, Back Porch (screened), Back Patio (with grill and umbrella table), Fire Pit, Pavilion, and Picnic Table areas.

There is a microwave and mini Fridge in the Grand Hallway next to the Dining Room entrance. These are available to guests of both the Chardonnay Room and the Merlot Room. Guests are asked to not leave food behind, and to only take what is theirs.

During your stay
We very much look forward to hosting a guest welcome reception every day a new guest arrives. This will include complimentary wine and will give us a chance to meet you and answer any questions you may have.

Unless we've made other arrangements, the reception will be available between the hours of 3 pm and 6 pm.

Other things to note
The Holbrook House at Stone Mountain does not allow pets (including emotional support animals), and requires that all guests be 21 years of age or older.

Neighborhood highlights

Traphill is a rural country setting in the Foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, with a rich history. Before the bigger highways and interstates came, it was a prominent hub (by late 19th century/early 20th century standards). Our beautiful home was built by a prominent citizen, C. D. Holbrook, who was a painter, a proprietor and even a Post Master next door in the General Store that he built. Both our house and the Store (that is no longer under our ownership) are listed in the National Historic Registry as part of the Traphill Historic District.

My work: Delighting guests.
Favorite song in high school: Carry on my wayward son by Kansas
Most useless skill: I see things most people don't.
What makes my home unique: Historic home with period furnishings.
Pets: My cat, Scamp (appropriately named).
I love meeting people (don't be threatened if I ask a lot of questions). Love to relax, laugh, and have fun conversation (particularly over a nice glass of wine).
