Getting around

Sheung Wan MTR is 5 min walk away. Trams, buses, mini buses, taxis are all just a stone's throw away to get you all throughout Hong Kong.

Other Things to Note

Once you arrive in Hong Kong, everything is quite simple and all starts with a call from the FREE phones at the airport located in the hall immediately after you pass through baggage customs. There is also a Visitors Center there if you would like to pick up some maps, local travel guides, etc. to read on your way to the apartment. If you need a local SIM card, there is a 7-11 in the middle section of the main arrival hall where they see all types of SIM cards, I usually prefer the PCCW brand as it is the larges local operator.

  • The flat is perfectly located and has everything you need for a pleasant stay. It is really small, but you have to be prepared to that if you're visiting Hong Kong anyway. We had no problem whatsoever with check-in or check-out, Brendan was helpful and there was a nice check in/check out/sightseeing guidebook inside. In sum, I would definitely recommend staying at Brendan's place if you're in Hong Kong.

  • We had a super awesome stay. Lacked for nothing, except time, sigh! We will be back.

The apartment is very well located and rather well appointed, despite being quite compact. There are innumerable eateries all around, Starbucks downstairs and McDonald's right across the road.

You can walk to the most happening places, to the MTR, to the tram and to the ferries.

Didn't manage to meet mine host Brendan this time around. Will rectify that soonest!

  • Stayed for just over 2 weeks, I'm from the UK and I found the flat small, but I have relatives in HK and they said it was a reasonable size for a city centre flat there. I think 4 people would find it cramped, and the kitchen was small, cooking anything other than convenience meals would be tricky. The shower takes about 15-20mins to warm up so 4 adults would have to wait an hour to get showered up.

However, overall I thought it was good. The apartment is about 5 minutes walk away from Sheung Wan MTR, and 15 minutes walk from Central. If you want something to eat, there are plenty of restaurants/cafes/bakery's in easy walking distance. If you fancy a trip to Macau then the harbour is about 10 minutes walk away which makes coming back late from there easy. If you want to go to Mong Kok it's about 25 mins on the MTR, further afield, Sheung Shui takes about an hour. Brendan met us when he said he was, and was very courteous and gave us some great tips whilst we were there. I would have no problem with dealing with him again.

  • My priorities of great location, clean place and comfortable beds were surpassed by Brendan's apartment. Near Mid Levels, on exciting Queens Road, the flat was surprisingly quiet. The concierge/s were friendly, happy and helpful. The flat is quite compact but the four of us (a 30's/ 60's mix) were more than happy with our one week stay there. Brendan was a responsive host furnishing us with information and suggestions via email . Although we didn't meet him or Veronica there was a number we could have rung if there had been any issues..we didn't need to ring. The key handover and exit were quick and efficient. I'm recommending Brendan's place to my friends. Thanks for making my first experience with air b and b such a good one

  • Good affordable stay! No problems at check in and check out was a breeze. The apartment was small but that's HK for you I assume. It was clean and comfortable. They provided us with a portable heater which was appreciated. Close location to the sheung wan metro station, about 5 min walk.

I didn't get the chance to meet Brendan or Veronica but they girl who checked us in met with us promptly and let us in. She told us information about turning on hot water, how to check out and what the wifi password is.

One minor issue was that we didn't have ANY toilet paper. I had called the host in the morning (who sounded very nice) and she told me she would bring some up in the next hour or so. Unfortunately, when we returned in the evening, she didn't. So I had called again and she apologized for forgetting and suggested us buying some next door and she'll reimburse us for it. So we bought some and she paid us back the next day.

Other than that, it was a perfect stay. I would not hesitate to stay with this owner again (but maybe pick another larger apartment) and would also recommend to my friends.

  • Great location. It's really easy to navigate your way to the apartment from the subway station or the Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal. You can also catch the free shuttle provided by Airport Express near the apartment if you are coming directly from the airport to Hong Kong station. Walking distance to lots of good eateries near apt. Check in and check out was smooth and easy.
