The Space

This cozy apartment comfortably accommodates a single traveler or a couple visiting Hong Kong. It has a full bathroom that has an enclosed shower with water heater. It has an open kitchen with electric cooker and microwave oven. One comfortable real bed (Not a futon or pullout sofa) that sleeps up to a couple. A wall mounted TV with DVD player and solid wireless internet access. But the best thing about this apartment is it's location. It is close to all sorts of transportation that take you to everywhere you would want to go to in Hong Kong. Located on the West side of Hong Kong in the Sheung Wan district, it is 5 minutes walking distance from the Sheung Wan MTR Station and 5 minutes from the foreign friendly district Soho (South of Hollywood Rd). It is only a few stops away from the Central MTR station on the Tram or bus and the neighborhood is super safe and friendly. Also, there is a 7 Eleven convenient store (email hidden) right around the corner.

**In the past I have borrowed out adapters for FREE to guests as a courtesy and convenience, however, too many have not been returned (over 50) and I can no longer keep up with restocking. Unfortunately, I can't provide these for free but if necessary, will sell them AT COST (@HKD20) instead. Sorry that this gesture failed.

Guest Access

Guests have access to:
- Cable TV
- Hair Dryer
- Iron/Ironing Board

Interaction with Guests

As much as possible or invisible if you want. I will try to meet with arriving guests and show them the area. Whenever guests need information or recommendations, I am always available via messaging or phone.

The Neighborhood

The Sheung Wan neighbourhood is ever changing and a fantastic mix of "old' and "new" Hong Kong. This apartment is located in the heart of Hong Kong's commercial, cultural and shopping districts and within short walking distance to the subway and HK Macau Ferry Pier. A few minutes walk away from the harbour front and the fantastic Sun Yat Sun Memorial Park and Public swimming pool over look the world famous Victoria Harbor.

Getting around

The Sheung Wan MTR station is but 8 min walking distance away that takes you all over Hong Kong and Kowloon. There are also buses, trams, minibuses that run near the doorstep of the building on Des Voeux Road West Road and take you to every corner of the island and beyond.

Other Things to Note

Once you arrive in Hong Kong, everything is quite simple and all starts with a call from the FREE phones at the airport located in the hall immediately after you pass through baggage customs. There is also a Visitors Center there if you would like to pick up some maps, local travel guides, etc. to read on your way to the apartment. If you need a local SIM card, there is a 7-11 in the middle section of the main arrival hall where they see all types of SIM cards, I usually prefer the PCCW brand as it is the larges local operator.

  • Thanks Brendan + crew, great flat and great location for us. Everything went smoothly.

  • Myself and my girlfriend stayed in the unit for a couple of weeks. It was clean, cozy and economical. The hosts were very friendly, always available and very accommodating.
Although the apartment is small (quite normal in HK), it was very well planned with a separating wall between the bedroom and living space. It had all required mod-cons.
The neighbourhood is bustling a very interesting and bustling and it is well connected to the rest of the city. Tram stops runs nearby and metro is just a short walk away.
There are plenty of supermarkets, convenience stores and restaurants within walking distance. It's a short stroll to the main nightlife area - Soho and Lan Kwai Fong.
Overall, we really enjoyed our time there and would recommend staying in the apartment.

  • Brendan's apartment is everything as described, and he is extremely responsive with messages and answers you immediately! I've stayed in this cute little flat for 9 days with my fiancee and it was perfect for 2 people! A bit far from the MTR's station, but on your way there you will find tons of food and convenience stores. You can also take the "ding ding" to the MTR station or even along the "blue" line of the MTR station. We took full advantage of the "ding ding" as it stops literally right in front of the block where the flat is located. Also the most inexpensive way to see and experience the streets of Hong Kong.

Thank you Brendan for your hospitality!

  • I stayed in Brendan's place for 2 nights during my 3 day stay in Hong Kong. The apartment was perfect for a solo traveller (or couple) who just wants a clean, comfortable bad central place to stay so from that respect it suited my needs fairly well. Brendan & his mother were both responsive & contactable by email and phone and answered several queries that I had about the apartment as well as things to do in Hong Kong. I would recommend this place if you are looking fit something simple & relatively cheap during a short stay in Hong Kong.

  • Brendan (email hidden), and the apartment is very reasonably priced and well located. There is a tram stop right outside (with trams coming every couple minutes at all times of day) and the metro is not too far either. I would definitely stay here again if I make it back to Hong Kong!

  • The place looks exactly the way it does on the photos (no false advertising here). Overall, we had a pleasant stay of 3D/2N. We were out whole day and would be home late at night just to sleep. It's a studio that cleverly hides the bedroom.

    1. It is a small but comfortable place good for 2-3 people (the living area has a sofa bed for the 3rd pax).

    2. The unit is on the 1st level which is accessible either via elevator or stairs.

    3. It is clean & has all the basic stuff you'll need (blow dryer, electric kettle, wifi - though it was weak during our stay).

    4. A few steps away from the bus station, and around 15 minutes walk form Sheung Wan station.

    5. Located at the dry goods section of the Sheung Wan area which is only a station away from Central.

    We recommend this place!

  • Brendan's apartment is in a great location. Very close from metro and all kind of shops. Definitely recommend this place if you are visiting Honk Kong.

  • The location is perfect, walkable distance from Central and other areas, close to Western Market. It looks a bit better in pictures, but was fine throughout our two day stay. It's a bit small, but for Hong Kong it's understandable. We had a small kitchenette. No view out of the window, but most of the time we were not staying in the apartment anyway. The noise wasn't that bad, but probably because it's on a side street. The sheets and towels provided were nice and clean, the bed comfortable. All in all, good experience, would recommend for a nice stay, nothing fancy though!

  • I and my girlfreind stayed at Brendan's cozy flat last week.

The flat was very good located for travelling to Hong Kong so we really felt convenient for Hong Kong trip until late time by transfortation.

Brendan, the host of flat was very good guy. He was kind and nice. His trip advice were very helpful for us.

  • This is the second time we used one of Brendan's place and once again we really enjoyed it! The area was very close to the buses and trolleys and a 5-10min walk to the metro. It was a good size for 2 ppl. Had a small kitchen with small sink with plates, cups and utensils. There was a microwave and little oven. Also came with a little heater it heated up the place pretty good. The bed was a good size and comfortable. Only issue was the shower head. There was suppose to be a connector to be able to move the shower head higher and lower but it wasen't there. It was a low shower head so just had to hold the shower head to be able to wash my hair. Still this place was very enjoyable to stay at and would gladly stay here again!

I was born in California and raised in Hong Kong. Went to college in the states and returned to Hong Kong a few years ago. I absolutely love travelling around the region but Hong Kong has always welcomed me home and I look forward to showing off my home town and sharing all the little insights and local specialities with all my guests!
