I had a wonderful stay at the compound. The family was very friendly, the room was extremely clean and comfortable and Ketut was very helpful as a tour guide and gracious host. The location was only ten minutes from the center of Ubud, which was nice to be out of the hustle and bustle of the city. As a solo woman traveler I felt completely comfortable staying here and I would recommend this to anyone looking for an adventure in Bali and amazing place to stay!
Ketut was amazing! I was so happy with my stay here! As a young woman traveling alone I was a bit worried about being alone in a foreign country but within no time Ketut made me feel at home with him and his family on their beautiful compound. The main center of Ubud is an easy taxi ride away or you can even walk. A bit long but you see a ton on the way. Ketut was available whenever I needed him and so helpful with advice on what to do and how to do it. Also his wife makes a delicious breakfast each morning. Thank you Ketut for a great experience in Bali!
I want to thank all i was given in this place. The place, atmosphere, hospitality,Mr.Ketut himself and his family was much great for me.
He and his family take care with me any time i need, and fortunately even I was able to experience sharing our time with their locally community too, thanks to his invitation.
Im looking forward to be back soon with my family and fiends soon!
Thanks a lot for Mr.Ketut !!
Ketut was a fantastic host. He and his family were very friendly and made us feel right at home in the village compound. His wife cooks delicious meals - authentic Bali food with a homely touch, and his son was a great tour guide when he took us around for a day (despite him humbly insisting that he was nowhere as experienced as his dad). The village compound we stayed at was very relaxing, lots of greenery, room was huge, clean and nicely furnished. The roosters do make themselves heard very morning, but what can I say, it was a truly authentic Bali experience. I would definitely stay with Ketut and family again when I visit Bali again.
This was one of the best Airbnb experiences I have ever had. Ketut, his wife Wayan and his sons were easily the biggest reason why my my experience in Bali was as wonderful as it was. I stayed in their family compound for an entire month and truly loved it. Ketut was so attentive to any needs of mine and brought me along to witness things in their community that the regular tourist just wouldn't get to. I have him to thank most especially for this. The room was beautiful and clean and the patio was so lovely to relax on that I found I could spend hours on it. I left sad that I couldn't extend my stay and promising to return. Over the month that I was there Ketut and I were able to become good friends and I hope we will always stay in contact. As a female solo traveler, he and his family helped me feel so safe and so included I felt I was part of the family. This is easily the best homestay you could ask for in Bali, but of course, a homestay is not for everyone. If you want your cable TV and all the comforts of home, go to a hotel. But if you want a garden paradise and beautiful, authentic surroundings that are truly part of Balinese life, with a lovely, generous, attentive and kind family to boot? Then stay with Ketut in Payogan. :)
What to say? It was simply the best choice to stay with Ketut. The accomodation offers a lot of space, is lovely furnished and very clean. We have been warmly welcomed right from the beginning. Ketut has enabled us to have a deeper look into the Balinese way of live. We even have been invited to a traditional Balinese wedding which was an amazing expercience that we would have missed in a standard hotel.
We highly recommend to stay in Ketut's house when visting Ubud.
Our stay here was everything we had hoped for. The house we stayed at was amazing and very beautiful. Ketut and his family where really friendly and very helpfull with anything we needed.
We got a delicious breakfast everyday. And Ketut is also a great tourguide. He took us on a amazing trip around the area which would recommend everyone to do. You really get an experience of the "real" Bali. Ketut also took us to town when we needed, and had a lot of tips about the area and things to do. He helped us with anything we needed for our travels around Bali.
I can recommand Ketut's place to anyone. We had a great time with a very friendly host!
I had a wonderful time staying at Ketut's! The room itself is lovely (and huge!), clean and such a comfortable place for exploring Ubud and the surrounding areas. Ketut and his family are so welcoming and made me feel at home immediately! They were eager to help and answer any questions I had, point me in the direction of interesting things to do and see, and were great company to hang and chat with at the end of a long day :). If you are looking for a fun, relaxing and wonderful place to stay in Ubud, look no further! Thank you Ketut!
Payogan homestay is definitely the best homestay in Ubud, walking distance from the centre of Ubud. Ketut is really friendly and always ready to help you in whatever you might need but moreover he provides you with information (he knows many many good places,restorants,must-sees in Ubud) always with a sincere smile.
We recommend also trying a typical dinner at Ketut's house, that's delicious! The real taste of Indonesia!
The houses in Payogan village are comfortable, typical and at the same time well equipped!
Next time we stop in Ubud we will for sure stay at Payogan village!
Thank you for everything Ketut,we already miss you!
Payogan Homestay was a true slice of traditional Balinese life on the outskirts of Ubud town. Ketut (and his family) are excellent hosts - knowledgeable, helpful and very welcoming. The room is clean and very big, with a good-sized living space, small patio and outdoor bathroom, right in the middle of Ketut's family compound and its various (friendly - but not annoyingly so) animals - dogs, cats and hens! The homestay is a good 40 minute walk (downhill) into Ubud centre but there are a good range of eating options 5-10 minutes' walk away, including some of the best Nasi Campur/street food in Bali.
We were pleased to be away from the hustle and bustle of central Ubud and Ketut was very accommodating in offering us lifts into town if and when we wanted to go. The rice paddy fields and temples are a stone's throw away and I would also strongly recommend Ketut's guiding skills. He is extremely knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Stay here if you want to explore Ubud as an area, not just Jalan Monkey Forest! I will definitely be returning!
