Ketut hosted our first night in Bali and it couldn't have been better. Ketut and his family were so welcoming from the moment we stepped into his amazing family complex. Experiencing a homestay in Bali is simply amazing. Ketut showed us around his beautiful land and then left us to find our feet. The accommodation was perfect, so spacious and very clean. We can certainly second the interesting noises you hear throughout the night but it was all part of the experience! Ketut's son drove us to a couple of places for a very reasonable price and we took Ketut up on booking a rafting experience through him. The rafting company was brilliant and the price was at least half. The breakfast was delicious too. We will certainly be back if we find ourselves lucky enough to be in Bali again.
It's my first time to stay in Ketut's house. They have big family live in the same village and everyone is so friendly, no matter they could speak English or not. I only stayed two nights here, but I had great time there and very enjoy the atmosphere. It's like small union, family from French, couple from Italy, friends travel together from Malaysia, Thailand. Two girls had trouble with motorcycle renter, Ketut was very helpful to assist them and get money refund. You could enjoy talking with people and also have own privacy. See you next time.
If you have decided to go to Ubud area, then you should definitely stay at Ketut's place. It's outside (appr. 15 min by taxi/ scooter) the busy and touristic centre of the village and in the middle of a beautiful Balinese street. By that it's close enough to take a walk to Ubud trough the beautiful paddy fields and far enough to be away from the noisy and crowded centre. Closer by (10 min. walk) you have a few nice bars and restaurants, but joining dinner with Ketut and his family is definitely an option worth while.
Staying at Ketut's is choosing for Balinese hospitality optima forma. You feel welcome from the first step you take on their family compound and they (Ketut, his two sons and the rest of the family and staff) are always around without being obtrusive. They helped us with transport to Ubud and their son took us all the way to our next destination because we failed to get a taxi in time.
Off course that's all nice but besides the above, the room we got was beautiful, clean and spacious too. Breakfast was served at a beautiful and large wooden table in the middle of the compound. Be prepared for some noises at night as the green surrounding contains several animals that have a different routine than you probably have. But you will find out that that is inherent to beautiful Bali too.

Staying with Ketut was the best part of our experience in Bali. We couldn't have imagined a better experience. The accomodations were beautiful but Ketut made us feel at home and that we were part of his family. He has many suggestions about what do to in ubud and offered bits of wisdom and knowledge about Balinese culture and way of life along way.
Ketut and his family certainly welcomed us to their family compound and gave us a very enjoyable visit. Nothing was overlooked with the accommodation and his wife cooks better than the restaurants. From the moment you wake to the sounds of the livestock to a deliciously served dinner, no question is too hard to answer and transport is provided whenever it is needed.
Thank yo Jenny for you stay with my family .
For other host:
I am with my family have very good time to have Jenny with her husband stay in my house .
They are very friendly, easy going and left the my room lovely and clean. Would be happy to have them back at any time and hopefully next time I can meet the again .
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Ketut's place. The garden in the compound is so beautiful and whole place has a really relaxed atmosphere. Ketut was immensely helpful when we asked him about things to do in Ubud and we ended up renting a scooter from him for a very reasonable price.
We didn't have much time for breakfast during our short stay, but Ketut's family was so quick to prepare our meals that we ended up enjoying a fresh fruit salad, banana pancake, omelette and awesome coffee before leaving for our day trip. If you're looking for a quiet place to unwind with delicious breakfast, awesome coffee and an even better host, you should definitely book a few nights at Payogan Homestay. I wish we could have stayed longer!
