Interaction with Guests
We're always here for you while you're staying with us in Raleigh. While we may be at work or dinner, we're within minutes of the house but only just a short call or text away. We can be as hands-on or hands-off as you would like :) Sara and I love sharing stories and tips about Raleigh, but we'll also provide the quiet time you need while you're here. Please let us know how we can make your stay perfect!
The neighborhood is eclectic and diverse, and it's extremely close to downtown. It's not right in the middle of the traffic so it's quiet and has ample free parking on the street, yet it's close enough to walk everywhere. We love it!
It's extremely easy to walk (1/2mile downtown), and it's s the main bus station ~1/2mile from the house. Cabs are ~$3-5 to and around downtown. Additionally, rickshaws can take you home for generous tips after a long night on the town :) There are cabs to/from the airport (~$40), and there are also buses (Triangle Transit and CAT) that transport people to/from downtown too.
Treat our place as you would your own. No children, pets, or unregistered people allowed on the premises at all... no surprise guests :) Please arrive on time. Our property is drug free and smoke free. We enjoy the occasional libation, but we keep it reasonable. Ultimately, have fun but be respectful :)
I had a wonderful stay at Sara and Lindy's house. It is beautiful, comfortable and felt at home right away. Sara is a friendly, easygoing person and she was super helpful with tips on where to eat or what to see in Raleigh. Highly recommended!
The cozy cottage is exactly that. A lovely house with great accommodations upstairs. Sarah was very welcoming and gave great advice about Raleigh. A mellow dog and cat were an extra bonus. Centrally located, convenient to downtown and RDU. Look forward to staying again.
My best friend lives in Raleigh, but she has a couple of roommates so Airbnb looked like a good alternative to expensive, impersonal hotels. What a great first experience with Airbnb! Sara was an amazing host. Sadly, we didn’t get to meet Lindy, but that just means we’ll have to come back again!
We hit some traffic and weather on our drive to Raleigh from RI, and Sara was graciously accommodating of our late arrival. Ollie the dog greeted us on the porch of Sara and Lindy’s charming 1940s home, and Monster/Playdoh the cat wasn’t far behind! Sara had beer in the fridge for us and gave us a quick rundown of the house’s features. The keyless entry was a dream, and we had the second floor of the house to ourselves, complete with our own bathroom. The bedroom was a dream. What a comfortable bed! There was ample storage for our belongings, as well as a TV, wifi, and a binder full of information about the house and downtown Raleigh.
Sara wasn’t around much, but she was always available via text if we needed her (thankfully, we didn’t!). The location of the house was great – a quick 10-15 walk or $3-$5 uber ride downtown. My partner and I felt extremely safe, even when we walked home from a bar at night. There were coffee cups set out for us in front of the Keurig each morning (a nice touch), and a nice metal pitcher and glasses in the room that we could fill from the brita dispenser in the fridge.
We had a great time in Raleigh. If you’re thinking of visiting, definitely do so! It’s a great city. And if you do, you can’t go wrong staying with Sara and Lindy.
Sara and Lindy have a very comfortable private bedroom and bath upstairs (a clawfoot tub!). I had everything that I needed, and also very much enjoyed the large and beautiful Ollie (dog) and fluffy Play-doh (cat). Sara very kindly gave me great restaurant suggestions. They are very close to downtown Raleigh, which has a lively restaurant and club assortment. Great hosts!
Great house and hosts. I'll be back again. It was also really nice being so close to the restaurants, etc. near Moore Square. I'll recommend Raleigh Times if you're looking for a good beer and burger.
Absolutely a must stay! The location is great and Sara & Lindy are wonderful hosts. This place really is a 'cozy' cottage - it will be our go-to spot when visiting Raleigh!
I didn't like the comfy bed, the private bathroom, the resident pets, or all the attention to detail. Nobody should stay there BECAUSE I WANT IT AVAILABLE ANY TIME I COME TO RALEIGH! Seriously, it was awesome:)
Hey! We're Sara and Lindy, and we're just crazy about downtown Raleigh. We are a young professionals that enjoy traveling, music, and the outdoors- backpacking, hiking, canoeing, etc. When we're not outside, you can find us indulging in the eclecticism of Raleigh, frequenting our favorites and exploring new restaurants, galleries, shops, and pubs downtown. First Fridays are our favorites, where many local artists showcase their masterpieces all over downtown. We're excited to try AirBNB because we love to host family and friends in our home, and this seems like a wonderful way to meet new folks that share that passion with us :^) That being said, we can also be very "hands-off" hosts, ensuring your privacy but remaining a simple phone call or text away. We'd love to welcome you to downtown Raleigh, and even if you don't end up staying here, let us know if you have questions about the area.
