The house has a friendly dog, a harlequin Dane-mix named Oliver, who just LOVES guests. Don't worry, he's super lazy and will sleep 23 hours a day. He's also accompanied by an adorable grey Persian-Himalayan cat named Monster, or Playdoh, whichever you prefer :) They're both extremely friendly and pose no harm while you're here. The 1/3 acre property also has a privacy fenced-in backyard for Oliver.

Interaction with Guests
We're always here for you while you're staying with us in Raleigh. While we may be at work or dinner, we're within minutes of the house but only just a short call or text away. We can be as hands-on or hands-off as you would like :) Sara and I love sharing stories and tips about Raleigh, but we'll also provide the quiet time you need while you're here. Please let us know how we can make your stay perfect!
The neighborhood is eclectic and diverse, and it's extremely close to downtown. It's not right in the middle of the traffic so it's quiet and has ample free parking on the street, yet it's close enough to walk everywhere. We love it!
It's extremely easy to walk (1/2mile downtown), and it's s the main bus station ~1/2mile from the house. Cabs are ~$3-5 to and around downtown. Additionally, rickshaws can take you home for generous tips after a long night on the town :) There are cabs to/from the airport (~$40), and there are also buses (Triangle Transit and CAT) that transport people to/from downtown too.
Treat our place as you would your own. No children, pets, or unregistered people allowed on the premises at all... no surprise guests :) Please arrive on time. Our property is drug free and smoke free. We enjoy the occasional libation, but we keep it reasonable. Ultimately, have fun but be respectful :)
Absolutely a must stay! The location is great and Sara & Lindy are wonderful hosts. This place really is a 'cozy' cottage - it will be our go-to spot when visiting Raleigh!
I didn't like the comfy bed, the private bathroom, the resident pets, or all the attention to detail. Nobody should stay there BECAUSE I WANT IT AVAILABLE ANY TIME I COME TO RALEIGH! Seriously, it was awesome:)
This was my very first Airbnb experience and I could not have been more pleased! Sara and Lindy make you feel so welcome, like you are staying at a friends house, and are willing to help with anything. They will give you a ton of recommendations on things to do, especially places to eat! Their house is so cozy (that bed!!) and the perfect location to downtown. Thank you both for such a great experience!
This is a quiet, convenient place! Sara and Lindy are awesome hosts! Can't wait to stay again!
Sara and Lindy are amazing hosts. They have everything you could even think of taken care of. We were kind of fumbling through our plans and they had great suggestions on where to go and what to do. The area we had was totally private although they were both super social. Can't wait to stay here again.
The host was very welcoming and knowledgeable of the local restaurants. The house was located within a few blocks of downtown, so very convenient. Friendly atmosphere.
I prefer AirBnB over hotels for exactly for the reason Sara and Lindy have set up. A welcoming, warm, comfortable, friendly place where I could meet new friends. From a quick response to my inquiry, to helpful text inquiries on my way traveling into town, I felt "home" was my destination. Not my home, but a home away from home.
Once there, I felt so comfortable. It was clean and nicely renovated cottage. My upstairs room was so cozy after a rainy day's ride. They put thought into each detail of my stay from little amenities, wifi, house guidelines and local attractions. In the morning, coffee and some snacks were available, just the right amount to read a book, have a nice conversation and prepare for the day.
I would so recommend the Cozy Cottage, its so pleasant and convenient to downtown and the creative community. I really felt I was in Raleigh. For some reason, I never feel like that in hotels. Thanks Sara and Lindy for making my short stay, so memorable.
Hey! We're Sara and Lindy, and we're just crazy about downtown Raleigh. We are a young professionals that enjoy traveling, music, and the outdoors- backpacking, hiking, canoeing, etc. When we're not outside, you can find us indulging in the eclecticism of Raleigh, frequenting our favorites and exploring new restaurants, galleries, shops, and pubs downtown. First Fridays are our favorites, where many local artists showcase their masterpieces all over downtown. We're excited to try AirBNB because we love to host family and friends in our home, and this seems like a wonderful way to meet new folks that share that passion with us :^) That being said, we can also be very "hands-off" hosts, ensuring your privacy but remaining a simple phone call or text away. We'd love to welcome you to downtown Raleigh, and even if you don't end up staying here, let us know if you have questions about the area.
