About this listing
We have two bedrooms available for a total of up to six guests in our North Sarasota home, halfway between SRQ Airport and the University exit off I-75.
The house is conveniently located off University Parkway. We are just 10 minutes from both Sarasota International airport and I-75. The Ringling Museum, Florida New College, and Ringling College of Art are right down the road to the west, and there is a lot of shopping at University and I-75, including Lakewood Ranch. We are right in the middle between downtown Sarasota and downtown Bradenton. There are many, many wonderful restaurants in our immediate area, and of course we can recommend many more downtown or in other parts of the area. Of course, there are our world famous beaches, too! Lido Key Beach is a 15 minute drive away, and Siesta Key Beach is about a 30 minute drive.
We are renting two bedrooms on the second floor in a large house. The third bedroom upstairs is used by Victor our tenant. The bathroom will be shared with Victor.
Room 1 is large and airy and features a queen bed.
Room 2 is cozy and has a double bed and a single bed with another single trundle, so it could easily sleep four children or two adults.
There is one very large bathroom that is shared with Victor. This bath with a shower-tub services all the second floor bedrooms. We have plenty of soaps, shampoos, toothbrushes, etc. should you need them. You may use any and all the towels you want. The bathroom is always very clean. There is a half bath downstairs that is also available.
Guests have access the living quarters downstairs and to a comfortable family room with cable television and a wet bar upstairs, and of course they may use the kitchen and laundry facilities downstairs. We are providing coffee or tea for our guests in the kitchen each morning.
We have plenty of beach towels, chairs, a beach umbrella, and sunscreen for you.
This house is in a beautiful, park-like neighborhood with many large, old oak and pine trees. This is a safe and attractive neighborhood; it's perfect for taking walks.
Although we will recommend that you provide your own transportation, there is a bus stop at the neighborhood entrance 3/4 mile from the house. The bus connects to both the Sarasota and Manatee County (Bradenton) systems.
Please contact us if you have any questions.
Guests have access to almost the entire house; the living room, upstairs family room, the kitchen, the mini-bar, two different televisions, the upstairs balcony and the downstairs deck with dining table. Of course we have free WiFi.
Interaction with Guests
If we can, we very much enjoy spending time with our guests, maybe over a glass of wine or perhaps sharing dinner. However, there is no pressure to do anything but relax.
I love the trees in our neighborhood; they are the most salient feature. This is a beautiful, heavily wooded, tropical setting.
There are many great restaurants nearby such as English pubs, Tapas, Sushi, Pizza and many other chain and local restaurants. We will be happy to give our tips based on what you are looking to enjoy.
We very much recommend that you provide your own transportation. There is a bus line, the SCAT #15, at the entrance to our neighborhood. We are extremely conveniently located halfway between SRQ airport and the University Town Center Mall I-75 exit.
Other Things to Note
This guest experience offers a shared bath. Please let us know early if you have concerns.
No smoking inside the house, but there is a private balcony off the upstairs family room.
Never let either dog out the front door. Both dogs may go out the back doors.
The cat, Eric, may come and go as he- and you- please.
Please no loud partying; all three of us work week days.
Please do not invite other guests to stay at the house; only those on the reservation may stay.
About the Host, Paul
We are two well-educated professional men with more than enough room to share in our comfortable home. We've hosted many friends from around the United States, and we look forward to making even more friends from far-away places.
We travel frequently, especially to visit our friends in Switzerland, but we have a very long list of places we still haven't been to. We travel very casually; we like to get to know the people and places we visit well, and we tend to return to the places we like the most. We hope to make Sarasota one of those places for you.
We're both very personable and we'll try our hardest to make your visit to Sarasota as enjoyable as possible.
We do have an indoor/outdoor cat, a yellow Labrador, and a dachshund, but all three are very friendly. Many friends have brought their own dogs to visit and we've had not problems. Our one acre back yard is fenced in.
We look forward to meeting you.
