Interaction with Guests
We live in the front house on the property so I usually am present upon check-in. We like to give our guests privacy though so just consider us your friendly neighbor.
Our neighborhood is great. It is being featured in 2014 Feb. edition of Sunset Magazine as the best Cosmopolitan Suburb in the West US! Even though we are in L.A. the land of the cars South Pasadena is a very walkable city. There are great parks, restaurants, community events, etc. to explore.
The gold line train station is a little less than a mile away. We walk to it frequently. It can take you downtown or into Pasadena easily. There is also a bus route at the end of the block but most people prefer the train. If you plan to explore L.A. though I do recommend a car.
Other Things to Note
We have two dogs that we keep indoors during guests visits, and one cat that roams in and out of the property and will on occasion try to roam into yours. While we do not let her enter the rental property other guests have during their stay so if you are severely allergic to cats I can not guarantee a cat free experience.

Michelle is a very nice host and hospitable. She has very nice neighbors. My daughter enjoyed playing with her kids and her neighbors' kids. The location of her place is excellent, within walking distance to library, supermarkets, restaurants and train stations. Her place is a cozy, quiet cottage and we enjoyed staying there.
Michelle and her family are gracious hosts. There home is beautiful and their family is very nice. The neighborhood is perfect for a family and the street they live on is very charming. The Cottage is in Michelle's back yard so that is something to be aware of. However they give you plenty of privacy and no problem with our daughter playing in the yard, and eating an occasional pepper from her garden. It was a wonderful visit, thank you Michelle!
Michelle's place is perfect. You could not find a nicer, cleaner, better located and more beautifully decorated place in South Pasadena. This is the second time we have visiting family stayed there and both times the experience has been great. Highly recommended!!
Fantastic stay with Michelle she provides everything you need and her family are very approachable and friendly and also considerate.
Wish we had stayed longer the area is safe and all amenities are close by.
Thanks Michelle and family.
The cottage was beautiful and exactly as pictured, and the hosts were very gracious and accommodating. They installed a second air conditioner when the weather heated up. The yard is gorgeous, and our children loved playing there. The neighborhood is lovely and very welcoming and friendly. Walking distance to the Gold Line. Fun Farmers' Market on Thursday. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Michelle and family were great hosts. My girls had a blast getting to know her children and pets. Location was very central to where we needed to be--Pasadena, Santa Monica, downtown LA, and Orange County. House can get pretty warm without central AC and only wall unit in bedroom, esp if you are used to having AC indoors. However, outside areas were great and lightly breezy. Overall good experience for us.
Stayed for an extended 3-month period before moving to the area permanently and the experience was perfect. Michelle and the family are very friendly but also respectful of privacy. The house is very comfortable, roomy, well decorated and simply fun to be in. Neighborhood is quiet but with active nightlife within walking distance.
Definitely appreciated the big TV and old fashioned stove where I cooked meals almost every night of my stay. The BnB is a great escape and I feel lucky to have found it.
I'm sad to leave, but I recommend it highly. Will definitely book again when family visits.
