About this listing
This is one of the two master bedrooms on the second floor of our 2008 home in Northeast Portland, and it has a private bathroom with a shower attached.
Come stay in a bright bedroom with a queen-size bed, built-in closet, and a nightstand. It's on the upper level of our townhouse.
The attached bathroom has a shower and skylight (for observing the gray Portland skies or rare but delicious sunshine). Downstairs you'll find a spacious kitchen, and you're welcome to have breakfast here. You can also store your picnic ingredients or leftovers from your Portland food scene explorations in our fridge.
Walk out the door and you're about half way between Alberta Street (think coffee shops, bars, boutiques, and the notorious Last Thursday extravaganzas) and the Woodlawn neighborhood (more coffee, and a brewery).
The bus to downtown leaves about three block from our doorstep, and you can also walk to the yellow line MAX. There's an easy bike route to downtown, too.
There's a cute grocery coop on Alberta (about 10-15 minutes walking), and a supermarket about three blocks away in case you need any essentials. During the summer, there is a farmer's market nearby every Sunday morning.
Free street parking is available on our block.
Anything we didn't cover here? Please feel free to message us with questions.
You can access the kitchen in the mornings and use our pans, plates, cups etc. for your breakfast.
You're welcome to store picnic supplies or breakfast ingredients in our fridge, too.
Interaction with Guests
We are usually here when you arrive to welcome you, answer questions, and share recommendations. With some guests we've had coffee and conversations, others we barely see during their stay - we're OK with different levels of interactions, depending on what works for each guest. In case anything comes up, you're welcome to call or text me (Andrea).
We have a lot of bus stops within walking distance; free street parking is available on our block. From the airport, you'd take the MAX (commuter train) to the Convention Center stop and the number 6 bus from there. It stops within two blocks from our place.
Other Things to Note
Just wanted to mention again that we have an indoor/outdoor cat. She usually doesn't get into the room we are talking about here.
No pets, and no smoking.
Andrea and Bryan were great hosts! They were very accommodating and made us feel right at home. They were even kind enough to recommended some good restaurants in the area and a great hike at Mt. Hood for us, which worked out perfectly. The house was easy to get to from public transportation and had plenty of parking for the night we had our rental car, and the proximity to the Alberta Arts District was super convenient. Tons of great beer, shopping, and so much coffee! We had a great time in Portland and can't wait to return!
We had a wonderful time staying with Andrea and Bryan. They were welcoming and accommodating, giving us great tips on how best to explore Portland. We felt like we soaked in as much as we could thanks to their kindness, attentiveness, and graciousness. Their neighborhood is not far from downtown and a close walk from some of the best restaurants and cafes Portland has to offer. We were very sad leave and are excited to return!
Andrea and Bryan are great hosts. They are both kind and friendly. Even though we did not interact with them much, we both felt comfortable and welcomed in their home. The room itself is very nice. It is sunny, private, and well kept. As is the bathroom. Mitzo, their cat, also made the stay special.
Thank you Andrea and Bryan for welcoming me into your lovely home! The room is beautiful and bright, just like in the pictures. And the adjoining bathroom is spacious and has a skylight. (Loved it!) The neighbourhood is nice and quiet and just a few minutes away from the Alberta Arts Districts with lots of cafes, restaurants and little stores. (And delicious ice cream...) The Mississippi neighbourhood is also within walking distance. The #6 bus stop is only minutes away so it's easy to get anywhere by transit. It was perfect for me! Andrea and Bryan were great hosts. They made me feel comfortable and always made sure that I had everything I needed. I would definitely come back again! Thanks so much guys!!
Andrea and Brian were accommodating and made our first Airbnb experience a good one. Located just a few blocks away from the Alberta Arts District, their home is tastefully decorated and the room looks just as it does in the photos. The private full bathroom was a plus.
It was first time to use Airbnb for me and Andrea's house was perfect place to stay for my this trip. 1. Convenient location: It was not that far from PDX(about $30 by a taxi) and there is one bus to go to downtown directly so I didn't need to rent a car. Also there are some restaurants and cafes near the house. 2. Clean room with private a bathroom: It is literally bright room and looks exactly same like the photo. Andrea prepared everything in advance for me such as enough towels for two people, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toilet paper....and wifi password! How nice!! 3. Friendly host and cute cat: Andrea was nice host. Unfortunately we didn't have lots of time to see each other and talk but she made me feel comfortable and safe when I stayed there. In addition, there is one cat and he/she is so cute!!! but will never bother you(he/she seems to be busy hehe) I would definitely recommend her house if I have a friend who will travel to Portland. Thanks Andrea again!!
I enjoyed staying in this quiet neighborhood! The pictures are accurate: the room is spacious, there's a large closet and being able to have a private bathroom is very nice. There is also a desk/chair.
When I arrived, there was no one home so Andrea had left a key for me where I could find it. She had also already written down the wifi key for me so I could get connected.
Bathroom essentials were also excellent, since she provided organic shampoo/conditioner, plenty of towels, and shower gel.
Her location is 2 blocks away from the #6 Bus which connects to the MAX line to get into Downtown easily. It's about 30 mins to downtown.
She is also 10-15 min walking distance from the Alberta neighborhood (arts district) which has Salt & Straw! And other amazing eateries/arts stores.
If you have Wells Fargo, there is also a branch on her same street for your ATM needs.
I didn't use the kitchen much but her fridge is open for your usage of leftovers. There is also a very friendly cat that lingers around but doesn't come into your room.
Overall, I'd highly recommend this spot! Slept like a baby each night. Thank you!
