This is one of the two master bedrooms on the second floor of our 2008 home in Northeast Portland, and it has a private bathroom with a shower attached.
Come stay in a bright bedroom with a queen-size bed, built-in closet, and a nightstand. It's on the upper level of our townhouse.
The attached bathroom has a shower and skylight (for observing the gray Portland skies or rare but delicious sunshine). Downstairs you'll find a spacious kitchen, and you're welcome to have breakfast here. You can also store your picnic ingredients or leftovers from your Portland food scene explorations in our fridge.
Walk out the door and you're about half way between Alberta Street (think coffee shops, bars, boutiques, and the notorious Last Thursday extravaganzas) and the Woodlawn neighborhood (more coffee, and a brewery).
The bus to downtown leaves about three block from our doorstep, and you can also walk to the yellow line MAX. There's an easy bike route to downtown, too.
There's a cute grocery coop on Alberta (about 10-15 minutes walking), and a supermarket about three blocks away in case you need any essentials. During the summer, there is a farmer's market nearby every Sunday morning.
Free street parking is available on our block.
Anything we didn't cover here? Please feel free to message us with questions.
You can access the kitchen in the mornings and use our pans, plates, cups etc. for your breakfast.
You're welcome to store picnic supplies or breakfast ingredients in our fridge, too.
Interaction with Guests
We are usually here when you arrive to welcome you, answer questions, and share recommendations. With some guests we've had coffee and conversations, others we barely see during their stay - we're OK with different levels of interactions, depending on what works for each guest. In case anything comes up, you're welcome to call or text me (Andrea).
We have a lot of bus stops within walking distance; free street parking is available on our block. From the airport, you'd take the MAX (commuter train) to the Convention Center stop and the number 6 bus from there. It stops within two blocks from our place.
Other Things to Note
Just wanted to mention again that we have an indoor/outdoor cat. She usually doesn't get into the room we are talking about here.
No pets, and no smoking.
Andrea was a great host. She made contact with us right away and made sure we were able to check in easily and was flexible about the time. The room was exactly as described, very clean and comfortable. The house was very quiet while we were there. The neighborhood was fine, not great for walking but super close to a lot of great spots if you are driving. This was a great air B&B experience.
Andrea is very welcoming. The room and bathroom were just as pictured, roomy, clean and comfortable! We were there just a short time but enjoyed our stay! Thank you!
Overall great experience with Andrea. She was very flexible with check-in time which was nice as we didn't know what time we'd arrive. Room was squeaky clean and we felt welcomed. Love that there is a private bathroom with a shower, though we didn't use it. The room is very simple, and the location is convenient. Lots of nice places to eat in the area. Highly recommend. Great Value!
Andrea and Brian are great hosts! My husband and I stayed with them for a few days and it was a great experience. We not only enjoyed their beautiful, clean, cozy home... we enjoyed meeting them. It was a private place to relax and rejuvenate while traveling and where we were also able to have meaningful and engaging conversations with two bright-minded, kind-hearted people. It was a pleasure to stay with them and we highly recommend staying here when visiting Portland.
Really great hosts.
Comfortable, large room with big closet and en suite bath. Floor is carpeted in bedroom. Lots of outlets for charging phones, camera batteries, etc. Bathroom has a large stand-up shower, a skylight provides natural light. Outside noise, train whistles, etc were well buffered when window was closed.
Very close to MLK Blvd. which made it a convenient drive to the convenition center 2.5 miles down the road. Parking on their street was easy to find, parking allowed only on one side of the street. There is a gluten free cafe and bakery, Tula, a short distance from their house located right on MLK Blvd. Good smoothies and they open at 8am.
Andrea and Brian's home was my first experience with Airbnb and the Northwest. My sister and I stayed with them for 4 days and the whole time we felt extremely welcomed by Andrea and her husband. The house was walking distance to Alberta St., which was (in my opinion) one of the best neighborhoods to just walk around in. The food along that road is amazing! Our room was exactly how it was described in the posting and we loved the natural light filtering in. Because we were out for most of the day, we were not able to interact with Andrea and Brian a lot. However, they were always helpful and ready to give suggestions on what to see in Portland the few times we were able to talk to them. We thoroughly enjoyed staying with them in beautiful Portland.
House is very chic and lovely. Lots of character. Everything as described, we stored drinks in the fridge and used the washer/dryer. Andrea greeted us and was very attentive and made sure we were comfortable. Definitely recommend and will stay with again in the future.
