Bedroom in a spacious artsy Loft

Loft - Private room · Mckibben Street, Brooklyn, NY 11206, United States

The Space

The place is a colorful and warm loft. full of nice people who are sharing their life.

you will be living with us and hopefully make this home an even nicer place :)

i have been traveling a lot and i think i know what someone is looking for when he arrive in a new city, i always want to be a good host and feel like my guest are enjoying themselves. and have a great time.

There is in the loft :

a nice and spacious living room( with flat TV with Roku 2 netflix and hulu plus, DVD player comfortable cough, plant )

a dance space with Mirror, speaker and an piano ( the space is open and available to everybody. if you are an artist feel free to use it when ever you like it. to practice to have fun and just live it. we use it to have rehearsal to practice to stretch )

7 private room furnished and closed by their own door in a mezzanine ( the bedroom are pretty small and are low ceiling so that mean that you actually have to bend down to stay in the room. that make it cozy and cute. there is enough space for clothe storage for a full or queen bed. an a bit of extra space. they are mostly made to sleep. and really who stay in his own room walking around or staying up all the time. most of the time that you are in your room you spent it seating or lay down so it s not a big deal to have a low ceiling.there is so much space down and so much to do that nobody really need to stay in his room. but you have of course the choice and the privacy to stay in your room. and it s just so nice to be down talking to everybody or watch a movie in the couch )

1 kitchen ( it s a full equipped kitchen with microwave, expresso machine, mixer, stove, oven and all the good tools to make nice and tasty food)

1 bathroom ( yes only one bathroom but don t worry it s fine everybody wake up at different time, everybody have different life and different schedule. so it works pretty well) u may be will have to wait sometime a lil bit to go in but really not a big deal and it doesn t happen often ) except that it s a big and clean bathroom with space for everybody)

the Loft is in East Williamsburg / Bushwick, Brooklyn. 5/7 min to the L Train on Montrose avenue Stop or Morgan ave stop.
it will be 5 stops from Manhattan. 15/20 min from Union Square and 35/40 min from Times Square.

There is also the J train who is around 10/12 min walk who go directly to downtown Manhattan or queens

and the G train whois around 15 min walk from the loft who go to downtown Brooklyn or Queens

the building and around is really artistic. you can meet people from Actor, movie director, photograph, Musician or any different people

in the Loft there is mostly dancers from different schools, different background, work or in freelance or in other artistic field like theater or music producer. there is also people who have other job who are in vacation like biologist or working in the finance or dentist.

and people from different countries and coming from different cultures. we are coming from all over it could be from spain, norway , sweden , italy , caribbean, Australia. it s just nice to discover people and discover their life it like traveling in your own place.

the neighborhood is young most of the people are around 20-35 year old i would say.

it is a mix between hipsters, black, latino and europeans

it is a safe neighborhood. there is always people in the train and police around.

my roommates girls or boys always are sometime have to comeback by themselves alone really late and they have no complain about it.

the neighborhood is a mix of factory, company, cafe, restaurants, bar, shops loft building.

it use to be an industrial neighborhood so you can for example walk and have a factory in front of a nice park with a building full of loft where people live and next to it a store 1 block later a restaurant next to a cafe. that what made the neighborhood interesting and fun.

there is a lot of street art around. what is really nice to look.

the building on himself it s an old textiles factory who became an living space. so that s mean that there is old structures for example it will be brick wall old old bathroom tub. ( but really clean no worries about that :) )

the wall are not sound proof so sometime you can ear others

if you are looking for an silent room and all isolate i wouldn't recommend this place. but nothing crazy really. if you are light sleeper you can use earplug and it will be fine.

since it s a young neighborhood so on the week end there is sometime party on the other loft and on this loft sometimes but everybody will be really respectful. if it s in our loft i will let you know in advance and make sure that it s okay for you. and it doesn't last all night long.

but just be aware that it can happen.

also since everybody have life and different schedule it can happen than someone come back at 3 am or someone wake up at 6 am or wake up at 12 pm. it is usually really calm in the middle of the afternoon when everybody is out and all the neighbor are out too. so you can have really calm moment but also busy moment where everybody is home and having fun around a movie or a dinner.

the roommates are really nice they will talk to you and make you feel comfortable if you allowed them to. meaning that by being also nice and polite to them they will be also nice and they love to meet new people.

don t hesitate to ask questions to me or my roommate if you have any concern.

it s a comfortable place where everybody feel home.

the most important thing is to smile and to just enjoy your stay

the spirit of the place is to express your happiness and to share it with everybody. :)

the place is unique by the way that it s made and the fact that there is mostly dancer. so you could come home and see us practice or have rehearsal

or you could come out of the building and see the set of a movie filming.

  • We´ve had a great time at Juliens Apt. Julien was a great host, and all of his roommates too. The Loft has a great spirit, and is perfect for a stay in Brooklyn and New York! Thanks for everything, Julien!

  • We loved our time at Julien's place !!! The loft is great and the roommates were all very nice, artists in different areas which gives to this place a beautiful energy !! Loved the dancing room as well !!! ;) Location too was perfect since it takes 2minutes walking to get to a subway station. We definitely recommend that place, and would love to come back again !!

  • We loved our time here and I'm sure most people would - not only was the location fantastic, the loft unique and homely, but the roommates are so nice, fun and inspiring! If you're after a 'local' experience where you can break away from the tourist scene, this is perfect. We are so grateful to Julien for his extreme thoughtfulness as a host (he wants to make you feel at home instantly!) and his friendship (he invited us to their Christmas and New Year party before we even met).

  • The loft is amazing. Julian and the gang are the friendliest and most hospitable hosts in Brooklyn. What a value!

  • Julien was the best host ever and everyone at the loft was very nice and friendly. I would highly recommend this space to anyone that is looking to find a nice cozy spot in Brooklyn with an exceptional and gracious host. Julien always went out of his way to make us feel at home. From the time we arrived showing us around his area to when we left and had to leave our bags until our flight left, Julien was always helpful.

Even in the middle of winter this nice warm and spacious loft had everything we needed. It was clean and we always felt welcome. We especially loved the artistic common areas. There was even a dance floor and mirror to use for dance training that we utilized often.

Julien and his Bedroom in a spacious artsy Loft will be first on my list the next time I travel to NY.

Thanx for everything, Silke and Zora

  • We had a great time staying here! All the roommates were very warm and inviting. We were out in the city most of the time so this was a perfect for for us. It wasn't an issue for me but just a heads up the room is very small... Speaking of heads up it's a loft so the height of your bedroom is about 5 feet. Again, not really an issue for me because I didn't mind and felt very comfortable there. Julien was also very easy to contact and helped us in any way we needed. Definitely a fun, colorful, artsy loft with lots if cultures represented. A true NYC experience!
