We felt very welcome in the apartment. Richard and Grace both were very accommodating. The description of the apartment is very accurate. It was extremely clean; the linens/towels were nice, too. The view is spectacular. After a long walk (one day we walked five miles!) it was nice to come back to a homey place, including being welcomed by the staff on the main floor. Walking distance to subway, Times Square, Rock Center. We felt safe in the neighborhood. We have a family of six, including four teenagers ... and if anyplace can pass muster by teens, then you know it's a great place! We all want to come back to visit! Thank you, Richard and Grace!
A large thanks to Richard and Grace. Grace was extremely patient and waited around hours after our expected arrival time due to flight delays. Apartment was in a perfect location and extremely well kept. Would definitely stay again.
As hosts, Richard and Grace were ultra responsive and very accommodating. Due to winter weather, our plane was delayed significantly, so we arrived quite late. True to her name, Grace met up with us swiftly and graciously upon our arrival, despite the late hour and bitter cold.
The apartment fit our needs perfectly and everything was as described with one exception - the crib featured in the room photos is no longer there. For most travelers, this would be a non-issue, but as we were traveling with our 11 month old, it was a bit of a surprise. On the upside, there was a kids play pad in the closet which we put on the living room floor so we could watch the baby while having breakfast and getting ready for the day.
Overall, this was a very positive experience and we would not hesitate to stay here again.
We think the appt of Richard stunning. Perfect spot for a visit to NY. Welcome and advise, help with taxi, finding good restaurants etc very good.
Wow, triple A location, triple A in friendliness and help. It all went very smooth and o m g that View from the appt! I swear there were momenta we Did. Not. Want. To. Leave. The. Appt. We'll be back, for sure!
Great 2 bdrm condo in the heart of Manhattan with a really stunning view that exceeded expectations. Whenever we were in the condo we could not take our eyes off the skyline, day or night. Everything we needed was there, comfy sleeping and bathroom accommodations, suitably equipped kitchen, and just a few blocks walk to subway and theatres.
This is a very quiet building, and so even though we were in the heart of the city, we were never bothered by noise.
Restaurants and corner shops were all within 1 block, so an easy trek to get basic breakfast supplies or a hot cappucino.
Lastly, Richard was extremely responsive throughout; a great host to deal with.
Grace met us as arranged and showed us to Richard's apartment which was modern, spacious (there were 4 adults in our group) and had all the amenities you would expect not just in an apartment but in an hotel! Richard was never more than an email away for any issues there might be. Location was superb, residential but close enough to access most things NYC by foot. The best reason for booking with Richard was the proximity to the cruise terminal, on the day of our departure I looked out of the window overlooking the Hudson and there was the beautiful Norwegian Gem moored at pier 88! It took us about 10 minutes, with all luggage, to walk to the pier. If you're joining a cruise departing NY cruise terminal then Richard's apartment is the location.
However.........I do have some comments about AirBnB. For the first time user there are certain misgivings. Parting with a substantial amount of money many months before using the accommodation is a little worrying after all, hotel rooms are usually paid for after use. As the date approached I got emails from AirBnB stating I, as a guest, had to be validated. It appears that the first message was a scam asking for my personal details. AirBnB should do more to give guests peace of mind.
