Orquidea was very welcoming. She has a cost-effective private room available in her apartment, a good choice for the Azcatpotzalco area of Mexico City. The apartment building opens conveniently close to the street. There are several eating choices and a large supermarket nearby.
Many thanks to Orquidea for allowing our stay to be fun and enjoyable! The apartment was as described and very nice and clean. We very much enjoyed our week stay here, highly recommend!!
Communication was perfect from the beginning. We had a late arrival, and she was very understanding and arranged to have the keys available at the front gate. The apartment was just as the listing described, and was a perfect home base for our 8 day stay in DF. The apartment is a short walk to Soriana, Oxxo, and plenty of food options.
Recommendation for those staying here in the future: get out and explore. One of my favorite things to do in any new place is to walk around and discover what's around, and get a real feel for the area I'm staying. We found a market with tremendous enchiladas on Rabaul (just north of the flat, ~10 minute walk) called Pantaco Comidas--just be forewarned that competition from each stall will be yelling for your business as you walk up :D ; up Cuitlahuac found a number of food stalls, and a great taqueria at Plan de San Luis; the neighborhood just south, across Cuitlahuac was a mix of quiet residential area, and plenty of small shops and restaurants (and an interesting-looking hookah lounge that we never got the chance to try!), including a strip of Japanese restaurants by Parque Revolucion--the best street tacos we had during our time there was at a place called Taqueria Camarones on Clavelinas; west of Camarones by Parque de LA China is Claveria, which is dotted with more shops, and a new Cinemex, if you're in the mood for a movie.
Toward the beginning we were using the Metro more (from La Refineria, a straight shot from Cuitlahuac to Heliopolis), but took more Ubers toward the end. From the flat to Centro (traffic included) was about $90MX, to Condesa $65MX, and from Coyoacan (nearly 18KM) was $210MX. Cabs from La Condesa and Roma were quite affordable as well. Even with these expenses, it was _far_ less expensive altogether than renting a flat directly in the city center, and we were able to eat and drink like kings with the extra cash in our pockets.
All in all, we had a wonderful time in DF, and Orquidea's apartment was a big part of that great experience!
Orquidea is a very friendly person. She give her best to help you if you have a problem. The apartment was very clean. Very bad that i have to leave..
