About This Listing
Enjoy a private bedroom with a double bed and a full modern bath in our renovated 1920 home in one of Atlanta's premier intown neighborhoods. Your guest room and bath is on the 2nd floor, so there is lots of privacy. Our neighborhood is full of beautiful old homes and many old growth trees, so be sure to take a walk and enjoy the neighborhood. Our location is great and near several major amenities - about 1/2 mile to the MARTA rapid rail station, High Museum of Art, Woodruff Symphony Hall, Piedmont Park, and Atlanta Botanical Gardens; and near the Beltline Eastside trail.
Several restaurants and shopping areas are within walking distance or slightly further than a mile if you enjoy walking. If you are arriving by air, take MARTA to the Arts Center station and we will generally be able to pick you up at the station.
Relax in our screened in front and back porch with a swing and hammock.
We are flexible with check in and check out times, but let us know your planned arrival and departure time when you make your reservation.
Feel free to use our kitchen and refrigerator. We have basics - juice, coffee, tea, yogurt, cereal, fruit - for your to help yourself to a light breakfast during the week. If our schedules mesh on weekends, we enjoy having our guests join us for a cooked breakfast.
Interaction with Guests
We love to tell you about our favorite restaurants and places to walk.
We are close to the Marta station, so it is any easy train ride to downtown, Georgia Tech, Midtown and Buckhead.
Neat and clean will make us happy.
From Jul 4 - Oct 31, 2015 the minimum stay is 2 nights.
The room was exactly as described, in a very nice home in a residential area of the city. Paula and Chuck were very nice hosts, extremely helpful (in picking me up at that station, or driving me back, when in fact the distance in walkable) and welcoming. The shops are not directly available but a short pleasant walk away and, with their advice on how to get places, nothing is very far. The bottanical garden and park are next door, public transport is 10/15 min away. There are plenty of interesting things to do in Atlanta to make for a nice stay of a few days, or you might want to take advantage of a quiet time under the beautiful Georgian trees.
The home is very easy to locate in a lovely downtown neighborhood. Chuck greeted us and showed us the house and our room. Although the room is part of the home, we were the only ones upstairs while there so there was some feeling of privacy! The bathroom is spotless and well equipped as is the bedroom. There is plenty of room for a suitcase or two. We came in around midnight and didn't seem to awaken or bother the owners, though we did have to tiptoe past their bedroom. The location is excellent. A nice walk to the MARTA station and also in the opposite direction Atlanta Botanical Gardens. We were able to leave our car directly in front of their home on a broad shady street.
Paula and Chuck were great!! They were super nice, the house was beautiful, and they provided us with everything (including breakfast!!!) Everything and everywhere was so clean and the neighborhood was amazing. Thank you Paula and Chuck for a great stay!
Paula and Chuck are very nice and friendly. They were not able to greet me on the first day, but we figured a way out to let myself in. The house is very clean and neat, and the room is nice too. Paula and Chuck are really helpful and hospitable, and this is one of my best experiences ever. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience, and thank you for letting me in your life for a week!
Our stay with Paula and Chuck was fantastic. They were very friendly and helpful, and they have a beautiful home in a wonderful area of Atlanta. They were very accommodating for our schedule; even though they weren't able to greet us personally upon arrival, they were readily available to assist us if necessary.
The walk to the MARTA station is about a 10 minutes, but made enjoyable by the very picturesque houses in their neighbourhood. It's very convenient to get to, close to Piedmont Park, and a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of Midtown. The room and private bathroom were more than adequate for a long weekend stay. It was very clean, with many amenities in the bathroom, and the provided breakfast items were greatly appreciated.
We definitely recommend staying here - it was a very comfortable stay with amazing hosts.
This was my second stay at Paula and Chuck's home. I returned because I enjoyed their quiet, comfortable home and neighborhood and their hospitality. The 10-minute walk to MARTA is very doable and this time, with better weather, I also got to enjoy Piedmont Park, which is a good place for runners and walkers and only about a 5-minute walk from their house. For people who like to cook, the Publix grocery store is within a walkable distance, although the opposite direction from MARTA.
