Description

The space

Adorable 1913 home located 0.2 miles from the beach on Galveston Island with street parking. My small home (900 sq ft) has an open floor plan, 9' ceilings, One private bedroom with ONE Queen sz bed and a deck & hot tub right outside, A large living area with ONE Sleeper Sofa, and Air Mattresses Available per request. There is also a front porch, and a very small fenced in yard (in case you bring pets / mostly paved in the front yard). You will have privacy of the whole house during your visit.
Seawall Boulevard and the beach are 0.2 miles / within walking distance in a few minutes (stairs that lead down right onto the sand and surf are on either corner and have lifeguard towers). The new Pleasure Pier is only 1 mile away. There are a variety of restaurants very nearby such as: Ocean Grille & Beach Bar, Benno's Cajun Seafood, Saltgrass Steakhouse, Denny's, and Bubba Gump's. The Strand Historic District is also nearby if you enjoy shopping or want to take in Galveston's nightlife. The Cruise Terminal is 1.5 miles.
My house is great for couples, small families, or time alone but can easily accommodate 4+ adults. There is ONE queen bed in the only private room and ONE Queen sleeper sofa in the living area. I currently do not add additional fees for fur babies but do require guests clean up/sweep up after pets and cover fabric with a provided sheet (other guest are allergic to dander).
I will consider booking only a 1 NIGHT rental (inquire about the rate).
Parking is limited. There is ample space for ONE vehicle. Other cars must park on the side street, etc.

The neighborhood

I am 2 blocks from the Historic District. My little piece of neighborhood is an area where the The Army Corp of Engineers constructed places to live while they built the Seawall after The 1900 Storm! So... def not high class Galveston yet def a big part in history!

New! Nightly rate includes mandatory city and state taxes. Also, I currently do not charge additional Cleaning Fee's or Pet Fee's. I am willing to offer this as long as guests are willing to do their part in helping to keep the cost down. Let me know in advance if you do not want to participate (if you do not want to clean-up) and I can send you a "Special Offer" with the additional fee's added on.


House Rules
Check-in is after 4PM

Parking: Text your License Plate Number once you arrive. The city is now requiring "Residential Parking Permits". I simply register your plates to my online account as a guest. There is no decal, everything is online.
Hot Tub: Please NO SAND IN THE HOT TUB! There are TWO hoses for rinsing. Do not allow anyone to stand on the cover!
Pets: Inquire If I will agree to allow your pet to stay. I ask folks to agree to Clean up/Sweep up and to cover any fabric with provided sheet if their pet is allowed on furniture. My yard is small but fenced. Please leave pets kenneled or outside if you are not home. (pups chew on chair legs..) Please clean up ALL pet messes both inside and out.
House Rules list: There is a Check-Out List to follow on the Mantel. It details cleaning up after yourself (wash your dishes, sweep up your debri if you create it, bag up the trash, do not toss "stuff" off the back deck) and be respectful of my home and my neighbors. It is unfortunate that I had to begin charging a security deposit. My apologies to the greater than 98% of awesome guests that visit!

I also play music locally when I get the chance and love the night life on the Island and in the South Houston area. Me and my critters recently moved to Santa Fe, Texas (18 miles north) to be with my fiancé, David. Together we have 3 dogs (Charlie Brown, Markie, and Looey) and 2 orange kitties (Thomas & Ben).
