Victor and his family are excellent hosts! Prompt, accommodating and extremely helpful. The apartment is a typical 2 BR you might find in any city and perfect for a family of four. It was a great respite from the tourist district and gave us a peak into the Cusco of regular folks. It is much closer to the Plaza de Armas than it seems (2km) and the neighborhood has many gems like the Wanchaq market and Donatello's Pizzeria. A hearty breakfast, use of a mobile phone, DIY laundry facilities and access to Victor's network makes this a fantastic home base and exceptional value for Cusco and the Sacred Valley.
This was a great place to stay in Cusco! We (3 of us) were so happy to have so much space after being in a small hotel room the night before. Jackie presented us with cocoa tea the minute we arrived and it must have worked because none of us had trouble with the altitude. Also Victor arranged for us to have an English speaking guide for our tour of Machu Picchu. What a blessing that was and much less expensive than the tours that were available through travel agents here in the US. Even the little mini-market across the street with a computer and a printer helped make this a great place to stay.
I am originally from Puno - Peru (a city 12000 feet above sea level), but I now live and work in the US. I have been working for Intel Corporation for a whole year now (how time flies!). I try to keep a balanced life by exercising not only the body but also the mind. I work out 3 times a week and do meditation every now and then (Buddhist temple near home).
