The city of Melaka, founded around the year 1400, is considered to be the founding city of modern Malaysia. Being strategically located along major shipping routes, the city prospered during the reign of the Melaka Sultanate. It was later conquered by the Portuguese, Dutch and British. A melting pot of various cultures and traditions, its uniqueness was duly recognised when it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage City together with the city of Georgetown in Penang in 2008.

Other Things to Note
Please note that we do not have parking for guests. Parking can sometimes be difficult on Friday, weekends and holidays. There are a number of parking spots along our street and surrounding street which you need to pay using coupons which you can buy from us (leave someone in the car while you get the coupons, as the parking inspector comes to check quite regularly). Otherwise there are a couple of privately-run car parks within walking distance which you pay to the attendant. Please park responsibly.

Not as good as i thoughts and reviews by other visitors. Parking is not provided and was summoned by MBMB; a mere 5 minutes away to purchase parking coupon.
Room condition was very different from picture taken. Room was not well-maintained and wall paint starts to peel off. On top of that, room insulation was not good. Did not sleep well because the guest stayed upper floor did not sleep until 1230am and wake up at 630am. Noise created is really unbearable.
While one of our advantage is the location in the city centre, we understand that parking can be a problem for guests. We are more than happy to assist our guests on where to park based on the time and situation. As our building is a restored old-building, there may be some peeling of paint, particularly due to the moist nature of the surroundings as it is located beside the river. But we regularly perform maintenance and re-paint the walls. We try to offer a different experience from what you can typically get from a upmarket hotel.
We stayed a night at Wei Yi's guesthouse which is situated on Malacca River. The room is exactly what you see in the pictures; spacious, clean, private bathroom and a balcony that overlooks the river.
The location is extremely convenient and Wei Yi even provided us with a map of the area highlighting the famous restaurants. The guesthouse itself has an old colonial charm.
We will definitely be booking with Wei Yi again when we return to Malacca.
We only had a single night in this room but we wish we could has stayed much longer. The view of the river is awesome and the room was spacious and clean. Beautiful decor and comfortable bed. Ideal location in the historic district and less than a 5 min walk to where everything goes on in Malacca.
Fantastic location and views of the river. Shame about the heavy downpour when we arrived, and the noise of the old timber building. As I was staying on the top floor I didn't mind. Rather enjoyed interacting with my brother and his wife on the floor below me. We could hear our whatsapp going as we bombarded each other with messages. No distinct conversation could be overheard, only the laughter.
I much enjoyed my early morning walk along the river. Thank you lady for the recommendation. Didn't get to meet Wei Yi though we communicated well and fast. His family was helpful and nice
Too short a stay, and oh, as my sister in law has a cat phobia, we didn't spend time downstairs. Another shame as the heritage house was interesting
Love my bathroom. Very open and yet private.
I went for the view and I got it. No complaints. Will stay again if and when I revisit Malacca
We loved everything here - the place was charming, comfortable and really cosy. The location of the guest house was also very convenient. Special thanks to Wei Yi for helping us book a meal at one of the best restaurants in Malacca and being really prompt in replies. Will definitely return someday.
Fantastic location right between Jonker street and A famosa the two iconic Must Go in malacca. Wei Yi even advice us on the parking and help us with finding parking shot. Very safe area with lots of local cafes and even Hard Rock cafe just short walk away. Hard Rock cafe is a great place to relax with its evening live band (ideal for weekday night where there is no night market). The famous chicken rice ball is right beside Hard Rock Cafe which is a awesome brunch location. Jonker Market operates on friday and saturday night. Capitol Satay is also just 8mins walk away.
The place was a steal with its canal view and it even has a swing in its lobby to chill in. Toilets seems newly renovated and was pretty cleaned.
I will definitely come back again :)
Wei Yi's mom is such a nice lady. She is always there. In fact the family is always there to help. Me and my friend rented few bicycles and cycle around town. Aunty is always sitting at the front desk ready to help with all the direction. Was very accommodating. The room that I took has a stunning view of the river and the church. Room is very clean and have got what we need. The location is also super convenient. Is like 2mins walk from Jonker St and few more mins walk to many other attraction. Highly recommend this place !
