I enjoy meeting people from all over. I use Airbnb when I travel. I'm often traveling and you may have the house to yourself!
I have a charming Tudor style house located next to a prominent college in a lovely area of town. There are markets (Wegman's), restaurants, Starbucks and a movie theater with a 1-2 radius.
I am located about 50 minutes from Philadelphia, and less than 2 hours from NYC. There is public transportation to both of these cities. There are 5+ colleges located in the area, including Muhlenberg, Lehigh, Lafayette and Moravian.
You will have access to the kitchen. There is a full bath located near the bedroom. There is free internet and cable.
My design studio is not in my home. My dogs come to work with me.
There is some public transportation nearby. There are great parks within walking distance. There is a car rental company (Enterprise) nearby that will pick you up if you want to rent a car.
This rental is for one bedroom with a queen size bed. Arrangements can be made for a second bedroom, which also has a queen size bed.
I noticed I had a single complaint about the bed and boxspring on the floor. All other guests found it extremely comfortable! It's as shown in the picture. And I have a few bathrooms. If you object to sharing I'll use the one downstairs. I've had great reviews except for a recent one which surprised me.
Kitchen and bathroom.
Interaction with Guests
I'm usually in and out. My guests come and go as they please.
Charming, safe. Beautiful streets and lovely homes. Great parks. Muhlenberg college campus is lovely and one block away.
You can walk to parks, markets, indie film theater, a few restaurants. A car is necessary although there are city buses running nearby. There's an Enterprise car rental place that will pick you up, and prices are very good!
Other Things to Note
Great parks nearby. Good jogging paths. Lots of new restaurants coming to the area. Bethlehem and Easton are fun to explore, too.
No smoking. No pets. Safe street parking in lovely neighborhood.
Beautiful home in a lovely neighborhood. Very comfortable room (and bed!). Convenient to historic Bethlehem - about a 20-minute drive. Marla is a gracious host (as are her very cute dogs). Would definitely return.
My experience was super short, but positive. The house is in a beautiful neighborhood. Marla was easy to work with.
Marla was traveling when I stayed at her home, but she left clear directions as to how to get in the house, turn on the heat, etc. She also has a number of informative notes posted throughout her home. I greatly appreciated that, upon my inquiry regarding coffee, she left out a drip coffee maker, filters and coffee!! Despite not being at home, Marla was responsive when I texted to ask if she had a shovel - as I had not expected the first day of Spring snow storm. She told me where I'd find the shovel and also told me her neighbor usually shovels for her.
The bedroom is spacious and the bed is comfortable, despite the fact that the mattress and boxspring are on the floor. I love the 50s style tile in the kitchen and bath - overall a lovely old Tutor home.
Perfect location for Muhlenberg parents!
Marla's home is in a very nice neighborhood. We had a brief conversation with her shortly after our arrival. Although the house description says there are 2.5 bathrooms, Marla emailed us while we were en route to say we would share a bathroom with her. There is no bed frame or headboard (the mattress and box springs are on the floor). We used a space heater overnight.
Marla chatted with us and we both got to share a little a bit ourselves. Great to meet new people who have shared interests.
Marla is a great host. Even though she was out of town when we were scheduled to arrive, she left very clear instructions about how to find the key to get into her home. Her home is lovely, in a quiet residential neighborhood, with easy on-street parking, and everything is just as she described it and as her other reviewers described it. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean, and the bed is comfortable. We had no problem finding our way around the kitchen. We did get to meet Marla towards the end of our stay, and she is warm and gracious. We would certainly be happy to go back for a return visit.
We had a great experience staying here. Our host (Marla) responded to all communications very promptly and our room was as advertised. We met her briefly during our stay and she was friendly and helpful! The bed was firm and comfortable. The neighborhood is beautiful and safe and it was a pleasure being a guest in her lovely home. We will be back!
