About this listing
I enjoy meeting people from all over. I use Airbnb when I travel. I'm often traveling and you may have the house to yourself!
I have a charming Tudor style house located next to a prominent college in a lovely area of town. There are markets (Wegman's), restaurants, Starbucks and a movie theater with a 1-2 radius.
I am located about 50 minutes from Philadelphia, and less than 2 hours from NYC. There is public transportation to both of these cities. There are 5+ colleges located in the area, including Muhlenberg, Lehigh, Lafayette and Moravian.
You will have access to the kitchen. There is a full bath located near the bedroom. There is free internet and cable.
My design studio is not in my home. My dogs come to work with me.
There is some public transportation nearby. There are great parks within walking distance. There is a car rental company (Enterprise) nearby that will pick you up if you want to rent a car.
This rental is for one bedroom with a queen size bed. Arrangements can be made for a second bedroom, which also has a queen size bed.
I noticed I had a single complaint about the bed and boxspring on the floor. All other guests found it extremely comfortable! It's as shown in the picture. And I have a few bathrooms. If you object to sharing I'll use the one downstairs. I've had great reviews except for a recent one which surprised me.
Kitchen and bathroom.
Interaction with Guests
I'm usually in and out. My guests come and go as they please.
Charming, safe. Beautiful streets and lovely homes. Great parks. Muhlenberg college campus is lovely and one block away.
You can walk to parks, markets, indie film theater, a few restaurants. A car is necessary although there are city buses running nearby. There's an Enterprise car rental place that will pick you up, and prices are very good!
Other Things to Note
Great parks nearby. Good jogging paths. Lots of new restaurants coming to the area. Bethlehem and Easton are fun to explore, too.
No smoking. No pets. Safe street parking in lovely neighborhood.
Marla is such a sweet wonderful host. Her home is beautiful and cozy. Her dogs Max and Lola are just adorable. The room I stayed in was nice, clean and comfortable. I loved staying here!!! I will definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Allentown.
The house was pleasant and nestled in a nice and quiet neighborhood in western Allentown. The accommodations were comfortable and clean. Marla was a kind and welcoming host.
Marla was a wonderful host and made our first Airbnb stay very easy. She provided very clear details which made checking in a breeze. The room is comfortable and includes 2 dressers and a desk. Her home is close to a large mall and a few shopping centers which made it easy to find food.
We loved our first Air BNB stay at Marla's home! Her gorgeous house was easy to find in a safe, beautiful neighborhood. We enjoyed an evening stroll around the area. The bed was very comfortable and plenty of clean towels and a couple bottles of water were provided which were much appreciated. She also left plenty of notes so we knew how all the appliances and plumbing should be used which was helpful. We met Marla and her sweet puppies in the morning and had a pleasant chat before heading back home. We would definitely stay again if we come back to this area.
Marla was great, the house was beautiful and the room lovely! I arrived at her house at about 1:00 in the morning, luckily she was doing the same and took the time to show me to the room and whatnot. The room was comfortable and darling and she offered to drive me to the bus station in the morning. Overall, the stay was short but very comfortable. Marla was a wonderful hostess.
We had a great time in Allentown! Marla's house was perfect! A little ways from where we were hanging out, but close enough to several different places to eat and places to sightsee and hangout. The neighborhood was beautiful. Marla communicating everything clearly and made things easy for us with regards to checking in. The listing was great for what we needed and would recommend it to those coming through Allentown!
Marla was a great host. She is very welcoming and helpful. Her house is in a very pretty tree-lined neighborhood within a very short walking distance to a beautiful park. The room was nice and clean and her little dogs are adorable. Already planning my next stay.
