The whole group will be comfortable in this spacious and unique boutique hotel. The American House, built in 1854 is the oldest standing building in the city of McGregor! Dr. Lucy Hobbs the first woman to graduate a dental college in the world had her dental office in this building from 1862-1865! The building is on the National Registry of Historic Places and offers a one of a kind experience you can’t find anywhere else! Enjoy the best view of the Mississippi in all of McGregor!

The space
American House 1854 is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Many famous people have stayed in the American House including former President Jimmy Carter and the legendary Mark Twain when he was doing a speech in the area.

This historic villa is located on the second floor. You will get the whole second floor space to enjoy your time in the beautiful city of McGregor. Located just across the street from the mighty Mississippi it has amazing views of the river and you can hear live music when it is happening at Big Bouys Marina!

You will be able to access the entire second floor of the property including the patio. Both the upper and lower units are occupied by other guests.
