Interaction with Guests
I enjoy meeting guests and want especially that they feel relaxed and at ease in my home. I enjoy good conversation with people but also have an appreciation and respect for privacy and the need for guests to have their own space. I welcome a similar outlook from those who stay with me.
Honest, polite, respectfull, clean, a good communicator is all you need to be.
Smoking is permitted in the courtyard garden only.
I had a great time at Jo's. She was very accommodating and despite me having to leave at 7am on Sunday morning, insisted on getting up to make me a proper coffee before I left.
Her communication was great in the run up to arriving too, and the bed was comfy.
Surprisingly for Bristol, parking on the street was no problem.
Joanne was a lovely, friendly host who immediately made me feel at ease in her warm home. I stayed in the single room and it was bright and airy. Thanks Joanne for the lovely chats and cups of tea!
Joanne is lovely and welcoming, as well as a lot of fun to talk to. The room was very comfortable, and I slept better than I usually do the first time in a new place. Joanne's breakfast included freshly baked bread, butter, and raspberry jam.
I will definitely come back the next time I visit Bristol :-)
Staying with Joanne was my first airbnb experience and I can honestly say that I really couldn't have hoped for more. She is a very friendly hospitable and warm host and I felt safe, welcome and very comfortable in her home.
The bed room and bed were very comfy, the shower had power and her homemade bread at breakfast was just delicious! She was very happy to share her great local knowledge recommending some lovely local places to eat and was very helpful with directions and booking a taxi for me.
I hope to go back and stay with her again in the not too distant future.
Thank you so much Joanne xxx
Joanne was truly lovely. I was only at the house briefly - for a much-needed kip and then breakfast - but the half-hour chat we had over coffee and toast (with homemade bread) was warm and memorable. The house is a gem and so is Joanne. Highly recommended.
I had a great time staying at Jo's house for the two nights I was in Bristol. She made me feel so very welcome and made such an effort to make my trip stress-free - even walking me to the train station every morning (she has a secret route which only takes 15minutes). She is such a lovely person and really easy to talk to. I would strongly recommend Jo's place if you love to feel at home and good conversation!

About the Host, Joanne
My name is Joanne. I am from New Zealand and have been living in the UK for over twenty years, living in London before settling here in Bristol.
Since 2009 i have worked closely with an established Bristol language school and am valued by them for my contribution to hosting.
I have joined Airbnb after creating a second room to rent in my home and look forward to expanding my hosting experience by offering accommodation to travellers / visitors, university students, those looking to relocate and or work in Bristol as well as foreign language students.
I love cooking, making bread and baking cakes. I also enjoy my garden, sewing , patchwork and quilting when I can make the time. Travelling to other countries, Europe, France and Italy in particular are always on the agenda. When travelling not possible I enjoy hosting people from different countries or parts of England, the cultural exchange Is always inspiring and enriching.
My main concern as a host for my guests is that they find my home welcoming, relaxing and comfortable to be in. Respect, consideration, open communication, laughter go a long way, home made cake and tea too I will say no more except thank you for taking the time to read this.
