Interaction with Guests
We have guests that enjoy visiting, some even want to share a glass of wine and maybe snacks and we are happy to do so! However, if you want a more private experience, we honor that as well. We both work, our business is home based but takes us on the road as well, so we are in and out of the house, some days gone the entire day.
We want guests to make themselves at home whether we are at the house or not.
If you enjoy walking, there is a walking path about 1/4 mile away from our house ( with a couple mile walk into the Village ) that will take you into the Village where you can shop and dine. If you prefer using your car, great shopping and dining are within a mile or two.
There is a bus stop about a mile away that will take you into Burlington.
We do have a family dog who is 15 years old and loves to be around people, esp.children. When checking in, please bring all your gear into the mud room entrance, then kindly remove your shoes before going to your room, this is a huge help in keeping floors clean with lots of traffic in and out. Please bring used dishes to sink/dishwasher in upstairs kitchen. You may use the refrigerator in the garage. Coffee/tea is available in the kitchen to the left of the sink. We supply the coffee/tea/sugar/1/2 and 1/2 for your enjoyment. ( Sugar is in the cupboard above the Keurig Coffee maker, mugs in the cupboard...help your self if we are not around!)
Please put dirty towels/linens in the hamper in the bathroom. Thanks so much!
Our hosts Laurie and Mark were very welcoming and communicated well. The listing was exactly as described. It is located in a beautiful rural/suburban setting - depends on your definition.
Laurie and Mark were very welcoming and considerate from the start. They are excellent hosts. We felt right at home. The room is exactly as described, lovely, clean and comfortable. We would not hesitate to stay again!
Laurie and Mark were more than welcoming, friendly and considerate during our stay. We felt very comfortable to come and go as we pleased. The house is very nice, clean and quite. The bedroom was perfect for a one or multiple nights stay with the convenience of a private bathroom just down the hall. Two thumbs up all around!
Nice accomodations. Lovely grounds. Convenient location. Laurie and Mark were friendly and helpful, though we saw very little of them on account of our busy schedule.
Laurie and Mark were very welcoming, including a little gift for our anniversary! They made excellent suggestions for outings, we felt right at home.
We definitely would stay again!
Lovely yard. Very welcoming hosts. Very clean. The room was quite small (barely enough room for bed and bureau) and right beside the hosts' bedroom and exercise room....so it definitely felt like staying in the extra bedroom in the small upstairs of a home: close quarters! This was not a bad thing, but a little unusual.
Thanks so much for your suggestions Jane! You are the first to mention the stools, I will keep on the lookout for something that could work in the space. We have plans to put a queen bed up, and eliminate the dresser ( small shelves instead )
We were in Shelburne overnight to enjoy a day at the museum and see a bit more of the area. Laurie was very welcoming and a great help with dining suggestions. The pizza at Folino's was the best we have ever eaten! The room was very comfortable and exceptionally clean. We would definitely return if the opportunity arose. The garden was beautiful and we enjoyed time there perusing a stack of Shelburne brochures.
