We are husband and wife living year round in East Hampton, NY. The house is a contemporary looking-style house. Living room, kitchen, toilet, and deck on the ground floor. Bedrooms and bathrooms on the upper floor.
This room is spacious and clean with new Twin Beds with new mattresses. The beds can combine to make a King bed. Atop of the mattress the King size bed has an additional Beautyrest Geo 3.5 in. Foam Mattress Topper for additional comfort. On the opposite side of the room there is a large desk and a chair.
A cot may be added for a third person.
The bathroom has a bathtub and shower. You may share it if there are more guests. We provide towels for each guest. There is also a toilet in the ground floor that you can also use.
Peaceful and quiet views to backyard and natural reserve.
Complimentary breakfast (fruits, toasts, jam & cheese, tea, coffee, orange juice).
Your private room is a cozy and peaceful place overlooking the backyard bordered by a nature preserve. Wood trails at a walking distance, leading to a beautiful pond. Nature lovers will be in heaven checking all these birds perching, flying, chirping and nesting (robins, blue jays, cardinals (lots), orioles, blackbirds, woodpeckers, catbirds...)
During the spring and summer the backyard deck is furnished with a teak furniture set that includes a table for 6-8 people, chairs, bench, and a beautiful navy blue umbrella.
Internet Wi-Fi signal is strong throughout the house.
Washer and dryer, iron and ironing board are also available.
Central Air Conditioner and De-Humidifier - excellent quality.
NOTE: Small well-behaved dog possible with advanced approval. Must always stay on leash when out of bedroom and supervised by dog-owner.
The house is about 5-7 minutes drive to beach in Sag Harbor/North Haven, and about the same time to beaches in East Hampton. If you don't have a car, you can borrow our bikes (first-come, first-served). To get to the beach you'll be riding 4-5 miles on mostly flat roads with just a few slopes, through beautiful fields and wooden areas of the Hamptons.
In the Spring you'll hear a concert of birds of all sorts, discover nests in the backyard trees, and maybe even a deer roaming the reserve at the other side of the fenced backyard. All while you get ready for the beach! No, it's not a dream, it's just wild East Hampton!
East Hampton Village and Town is located 2 1/2 hours from Manhattan and it is served by the LIRR train and the Hampton Jitney/Luxury Line buses (buses run every hour during most part of the day). Of course you can also drive your own car and park here, there is an ample driveway.
East Hampton Village is one of the most upscale towns in the country with restaurants and boutiques galore. If you need to find a specific place please ask and we'll try to help you out giving you maps, directions, and references.
We look forward to meet you and help you spend an unforgettable stay.
Laura and Horatio were absolutely wonderful hosts. Our stay there was brief, but it could not have been more pleasant and refreshing. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a break from NYC or just wants to spend some time with two lovely people in a truly beautiful and charming corner of the world.
Visiting Laura and Horatio felt like I was visiting my own family! They made sure that I had enough to eat for breakfast and gave my wife and I the insight on the best places to see and hang out.
This weekend snowed quite a bit and one of the nights, my car got stuck in some thick snow. Horatio came to our rescue and pulled our car out to safety. They are genuinely very nice people and it's the ideal place to be as it's close to several areas in the Hamptons
Had a lovely stay - Laura was traveling but her husband Horacio was a perfect host, and fascinating to talk to. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
Laura's place is great. A calm, spacious house overlooking a large yard and woods. House filled with beautiful art. The room was quiet, and the bed was comfy. They offered us our choice of two rooms. Laura wasn't there, but Horacio was -- and he was warm and straightforward and welcoming and worldly. They offer breakfast in the morning -- an unexpected treat that we couldn't actually take advantage of. There's a dog there but Horacio made sure it was in a room we never went into, and the house was immaculate -- no problem at all with dog fur if you have allergies. Strongly recommend.
We had a great experience. Laura was out for vacation, her husband hosted us. He is very nice. My boyfriend was interested about his artwork collections. The room was clean and the bed is huge and comfortable. The only thing is that the room was a little cold in the winter but we've been given a blanket.
Most wonderful hosts. My mom enjoandyed her time. It truly was a specious and peaceful room. We will come back. Daniel
We had a lovely stay in Laura's house. The room was quite comfortable, especially the bed. It was quiet and peaceful, with a picturesque view of the woods. We both slept better than we do at home. The location was convenient to all hampton spots and we couldn't have hoped for more gracious and accommodating hosts. They fitted us with bikes for the weekend, and had great recommendations for beaches and restaurants in the neighboring towns. It was a wonderful experience!! Thank you!
We were familiar with the area, and the location suited our needs perfectly, as well as being peaceful and beautiful. The house and room were just as described: clean, simple and convenient. Laura and Horacio were friendly and unobtrusive. There was information available for newcomers, and the wifi came in (website hidden) was relaxing to be the only guests and have the bathroom to ourselves. I would definitely recommend this as a clean, simple and affordable place to roost in East Hampton.
We spent one night in Laura's house. We greatly appreciated this quiet place and the kindness of our host!
Loved the place, clean and peaceful environment, great for artist, bohemians and intellectuals. not for party or noise, great for relaxation and peace, would love to go back soon !
