Private room in Red Hook loft!

Apartment - Private room · Imlay Street, Brooklyn, NY 11231, United States

The Space

Beautiful private bedroom for rent in this loft-style apartment in the heart of Red Hook, South Brooklyn!

The apartment is located on the 3rd floor of an old brick building in this quaint little seaside neighborhood. The space boasts high ceilings, an open floor plan, exposed brick, original moldings, beautiful pine hardwood floors, a fully equipped kitchen and 7 oversized windows that provide ample sunlight both morning and afternoon as well as a view of lower Manhattan. The charming space is only amplified by the decor; tidy and minimal, freshly painted white walls, antique and reclaimed furniture, lots of plants and greenery. It's pretty much the archetypal Brooklyn apartment experience!

Situated just one block from Red Hook's main drag (Van Brunt Street) and all of its charming shops and restaurants, the apartment offers an amplitude of local amenities including Fairway Supermarket (arguably the best in NYC), a laundry facility around the corner, Coffey Park, Valentino Pier (the perfect spot for a bottle of wine and a view of the statue of liberty), a local bicycle shop offering rentals for $25/day, and more!

The apartments location in the industrial neighborhood of Red Hook offers a welcome reprieve from the more cramped and touristy areas of Manhattan and Brooklyn. That said, if you want to dive into the typical NYC experience you'll find it easy to get to all of the major destinations. The B61 bus stop is 1 block away and it's an easy 15 minute walk or 7 minute bike ride to Carroll Gardens and the F/G train (20/30 minute ride into Manhattan or Williamsburg)!

I work in close-by Carroll Gardens and will be around to welcome you! I will be happy to provide you with food/drink/destination recommendations. Your also more than welcome to use the kitchen (the french press, the oven/stove/toaster, the kettle, etc.) to save a buck or two on meals during your visit! You should know that you'll be sharing the apartment with my awesome roommate - he's a young professional who works 8-6 at a law office in downtown Brooklyn. We keep the apartment very neat and tidy, are both super respectful and open-minded and we look forward to hosting like-minded people!!

  • If the photos don't say enough this place is absolutely surreal with a bedroom window which you can even see the Statue of Liberty from. Emily was a lovely host and really helpful with suggestions. Her roommate is not home too often and is very quiet and keeps to himself. The place is spotless. What more can you ask for? If you have never been to Redhook it has lots of lovely little shops, amazing restaurants and you are surrounded by water. I truly enjoyed the sense of community . We found it really easy to get around to visit Williamsburg and Manhattan. This is definitely the place to stay.

  • Emily has been a GREAT host. For real.. Even before to arrive at the apartment .. The taxi driver got lost, we forgot a luggage in the taxi.. Emily took the control of the situation without loosing her smile!
The apartment is perfect: super clean, cosy with a very nice atmosphere.
    Thank you again.

  • I absolutely recommend this place to anyone. Emily is a great host and it was always easy to communicate with her if we needed something.
The whole apartment is lovely and signed with a a personal note.

Redhook is a very fascinating neighborhood to stay in. There are great little restaurants, shops and nice people, just around the corner. There is also a IKEA ferry witch is for free on the weekend that can take you to manhattan with a fabulous view.
We had a great time at our stay. Thanks Emily

  • I absolutely recommend this apartment to anyone. It was by far my greatest experience with Airbnb. Emily was the greatest host I've ever had, she was very welcoming and made us feel like we were at home. The apartment was even better than on pictures and it was very clean.

We've also liked the neighborhood, especially Smith Street, which is 15-20 minutes walk from the place.

  • The apartment is fantastic and lovely. It's exactly as seen in the pictures, airy and open. The room is great and the bed is very comfortable.

Redhook is a very fascinating place to stay in. There are great little restaurants, shops and bar within minutes, just around the corner from the apartment. There is also a free IKEA ferry that can take you to the financial district in manhattan, just 10 minute walk from the apartment.

Emily is also a great host, kind, relaxed and accommodating.

We had a great time at our stay and will likely stay here again!'

  • Emily was a great host for my recent trip to Brooklyn. Having stayed in Red Hook a month earlier at a different AirBnB location, I kinda new my way around. She was in contact a few days before to coordinate check in. When I arrived, she took me up to the apartment, showed me around, and made sure I had everything I needed. She is a very pleasant young woman, and was happy to have me there. Not that I needed anything, but she was always available in case anything came up. The apartment was very clean, and nicely decorated. Wifi was available and easy to connect to, and the view at night was great. I wasn't in the apartment all that much during my trip, but I felt very comfortable there. The bed was very comfortable, and the place had everything I needed.

I'd highly recommend Emily to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Red Hook.

Thanks for a great stay Emily!

  • Emily is the greatest and her place is beautiful! It's really airy and so bright with natural light. She has it decorated incredibly, the furniture all looks like it came from a Room&Board catalogue. When I arrived she was really sweet and hospitable, explaining the cool spots around the neighbourhood. I recommend staying here completely!
