Carla and Mossimo were gracious hosts. Before our departure from the US, they set up a car service with a professional tourism colleague, who was kind enough to wait patiently after my husband had left his cell phone on the plane, causing a 90 minute delay in our departure from the Rome airport. Carla's daughter (20 years old I think) was there to greet us with a cheery disposition even though it was midnight and we were supposed to arrive at 10:30. She explained to us (in perfect English) how to use all of the appliances, how to hook up to the wifi, and where to eat. A day later, they checked in on us to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Our three children, all 7 and under, were treated like family. Check out was flexible and Mossimo was genuinely concerned with our experience. The apartment was pefect: good size; comfortable beds; clean bathroom, kitchen, floors, counters and linens; and a nice view down the street of our Trastevere neighborhood. The windows opened in every room to bring in fresh air and natural light. We were able to use the house phone for local calls, and we made good use of the kitchen without any issues. A major plus to this apartment was the lift; it's a very useful amenity when you have three kids or have anything heavy to bring upstairs (luggage, groceries, kids in strollers or baby carrier). The apartment was close to an outdoor market that offered fresh fruit, vegetables, beef and fish. Next to the market was a kids playground area that was this neighborhood's nightly meeting spot for dinner and people watching. A supermarket and bank were nearby, as were several coffee bars and neighborhood restaurants. EVERYTHING we needed was within a 2 block radius. The apartment was a three minute walk from the lively and picturesque piazza that is home to Santa Maria Church, the oldest church in Rome. The restaurants and gelato selection in this area were plentiful and satisfying.
We were a group of five at Carla and Massimo's beautiful Trastevere apartment for two nights and it was perfect! They were attentive hosts, who, in spite of us arriving nearly a half hour late, were gracious and charming. They walked us through the workings of the house, offered suggestions for things to do, restaurants to eat at in the neighborhood. Genuinely friendly hosts, spacious apartment, could not ask for a better location right in the heart of Trastevere. If you want to visit Rome and experience what it's like to live as a local, in a neighborhood with enchanting, narrow, twisting streets, outside of the heavily traveled tourist areas yet just a quick walk across the Tiber to the heart of Rome, then look no further than here. We'll be staying with Carla and Massimo the next time we visit Rome.
Great Spot in Rome, not a far walk from any of the attractions. We fell in love with their family restaurant and were definitely there best customers during our stay at the Carla's place. Place was in very good shape as well. No complaints
Carla is the most welcoming host. The apartment is located in the heart of Trastevere. If you would like to skip crowds of tourists and live among Italians then Carla's apartment is the place to rent. It is spacious, modern, well equipped and surrounded by great restaurants. If it is available next time I am in Rome, I will definitely rent it again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Manara House! We were traveling with our 1-year-old and Carla/Massimo made sure to have an infant cot + high chair ready for us upon arrival. The location in Trastevere was especially ideal for a toddler, as it is around the corner from a daily market (San Cosimato) and an awesome playground for tots! When we arrived (quite late), Massimo greeted us with a warm welcome and helped us get settled into the apartment. Throughout our stay, he was quick to address any questions we had and help us schedule a taxi for our early morning departure. Overall, the apartment was clean, comfortable, and served all of our lodging needs during our stay in Rome. I would recommend it to anyone. Cheers!
We had a very nice stay in Carla´s appartement.
The Appartement is full equiped so we didn´t need to bring anything, it is clean and enough beds for 6 people.
The Manara House ist placed in Trastevere, which is the perfect stay for a sightseeing-trip to Rome. We discovered Rome by foot and spent our evenings in the restaurants and bars of Trastevere.
Carla and her family also live in the House and are very nice people. There is a nice little Restaurant just around the corner which relatives of carla run. We had a very nice welcome when we told that we´re guests of Carla.
If you want a nice stay in Rome, stay in Trastevere and rent Carla´s Appartement. Recommendation ? 100% !!!
Appartement sympa dans un quartier très animé et proche du centre .
bref un super séjour!
