About This Listing
Large, quiet, bright and comfortable room available in a 4 bedroom house. The room includes a double bed (can accommodate up to two people), a standard-size closet with shelving and coat hangers, free high-speed wireless internet, and a view of Disneyland's fireworks in the evening! Your own separate bathroom is also included (toilet, bathtub, shower, sink), along with fresh towels. We have a comfy living room, a spacious kitchen, and a large, relaxing backyard. Plenty of street parking. Quiet neighborhood, close to an Albertsons, Ralphs, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, and various fast food joints.
Due to our work schedule (and wanting to make sure that guests have a reasonable check-in time), we have a coded lockbox located by the front door that contains both a key and remote that confirmed guests will have access to on their first day of check in. This allows guests to check themselves in if my husband and I have to work late for some reason.
Some general notes:
Public transportation (bus / train / tram) in Southern California is pretty horrific. For example, we live 3 miles away from Disneyland. It would take about 45 - 60 minutes to walk there from our house, depending on your pace. By bus, it would take you 1.5 hours! I highly recommend either renting a car during your stay or using taxis.
We require a security deposit in case a key is lost, or you accidentally spill some wine on the carpet. Accidents happen, and we want to make sure that both parties are protected through Airbnb's fantastic security deposit service. If you'd like more information on this, please see Airbnb's FAQ page on the matter, located here: https://www.airbnb.com/help/question/140
A lot of guests that stay with us are on a budget, and we want to make sure we can do all we can to help make your stay as comfortable and budget-friendly as possible! If you'd like to keep some food in the fridge, please try to let us know ahead of time so that I can clear some space for you. We offer tea and coffee free of charge.
We have a STRICT non-smoking policy, and this includes both inside our house as well as in the back/front yards. You're more than welcome to smoke on the street pavement.
I have two small birds (zebra finches) named Coke and Cola. They're pretty adorable. They are either in my office or outside on the weekends. You probably won't even notice them. Let me know if you'd like to meet them; they love "talking" to people.
This is a non-smoking home.
Upon check in, we have an instruction sheet that contains detailed information for all the important things around the house (how to access the wireless internet, local attractions/directions, etc).
Wendy and Shaun were really sweet hosts and they have a wonderful, sunny, clean home. The bedroom was super comfortable and the bathroom was immaculate. They made it easy to check in and out, were welcoming and gave advice on getting around Anaheim. I would highly recommend staying with them!
It was great staying with Wendy and Shaun! They were really welcoming. We had our own room and bathroom, both lovely and clean and quite comfortable. It's hard being in the area without a car so we won't repeat that silly mistake, and since we were unfamiliar with the area it probably wasn't a good idea to stroll around at night. The immediate neighborhood itself is really safe and nice though. They had a nespresso machine that they allowed us to use and gave us a packet with info about the area and different recommendations. Really fun people and most importantly so very welcoming. Thanks guys! Next time we go on a Disney trip we would love to be able to stay here again, and there are lots of food and coffee places that are within walking distance.
Myself and my partner were lucky enough to stay with Wendy and Sean for 6 nights while visiting Disneyland and the Anaheim area. Right from booking Wendy and Sean were great with communication giving us hints, tips and info and answering all our questions we had. Our room was massive, welcoming and homely and very comfortable. Wendy and Sean had a info pack with directions, restaurants and local interests for us witch we found very helpful and a great touch(as were the chokies on our pillows!) Wendy and Sean are very friendly and made us feel at home throughout our stay. If we ever are back in Anaheim we wont think twice about staying with them again. It was a great experience.
Wendy and Sean were great hosts. We came to Anaheim to go to Disneyland and stayed at their place for two nights. Although we were out most of the time, we found some time to talk to them and really enjoyed it. They had some nice recommendations for food in the area and we ended up having the best Diner experience in the US so far.
If all works out we'll be back in the summer. :)
About the Host, Wendy
My husband and I are in our early 30s. We LOVE games: board games, computer games, and video games. We work hard during the week (he's in IT and I'm a graphic designer), so we like to spend our free time gaming, cooking, watching movies, and hanging out with friends. We're laid back and down-to-earth, and love chatting with people and learning about where they're from and what they do.
I'm an artist, so I'm obsessed with fonts, graphics, and design in general. On the weekends I'm usually in our beautiful backyard either tending to my vegetable garden or reading a book and listening to the birds (usually with a cup of tea in hand).
My husband is the bigger gamer, and he's usually killing horde or constructing his new Minecraft mansion. He's also a big reader, and will often join me outside engrossed in the next sci-fi book of win.
We live about 3 miles away from Disneyland, and we're lucky enough to be able to watch the fireworks every night from our front yard. We're right near Angelo's - a fantastically awesome burger joint that serves their food by way of rollergirls. There's also a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and grocery store right up the street. Our neighborhood is very peaceful and quiet (which was of utmost importance to us), and we LOVE living here!
