  • We stayed for 2 nights and used Monique's fabulous house as a base to visit various WWI sites in the area. The house was clean, very comfortable and Monique made us feel incredibly welcome. Monique was not only a most gracious host but she is also a most charming person. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone.

    First class. Thanks again Monique.

  • We are a family of five and our stay at the Green Lime Tree Bed & Breakfast was perfect! The accommodation was spacious and well equipped. Well located on the outskirts of a little village and central to the old Somme battlefields & memorial sites. This suited us given that we had our own transport/hire car for relatively short trips to nearby towns & villages, memorial and museum sites. Monique was a friendly and most helpful hostess, she really made us feel at home. She also makes the most scrumptious 'cranberry muffins' which we all enjoyed for supper on the last evening of our stay. Many thanks Monique, you are the best.

  • Our two-night stay with Monique was wonderful. The facilities are very clean, spacious and bright. Her rental space is really a self-contained apartment with a fully equipped kitchen and laundry facility that makes it possible to live quite independently during your stay. The apartment is very tastefully decorated. Monique is a gracious hostess. She is in quiet village, but near major highways, so it is easy to reach the major WWI sites in the Somme Valley. We highly recommend this Airbnb location.

  • It was a fantastic experience in a small and peaceful village for all 9 of us! We really appreciated Monique's flexibility with our late night arrival time. She is warm and hospitable, making this spacious and lovely house very enjoyable!

The whole place was immaculate. Comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, big dinning table and wi-fi make it very easy for big groups!

Supermarkets are in Baupaume, which was a <10min drive away.

The house was extremely accessible from the A1, and the area is of course, full of significant history.

Do not hesitate to book, you will not regret staying here!

  • My parents and I were delighted to stumble upon this peaceful rural haven as a convenient stopover en route from Calais to the mountains. Monique is a charming and very welcoming host, and the gite is modern, cosy and immaculately clean inside. Breakfast was excellent, and I highly recommend taking the 3 course dinner of local cuisine, which was delicious (some of it sourced from the garden) and delivered by Monique with very convivial conversation about the local food and other attractions. Our baby loved the geese and playing in the garden. I recommend also contacting Monique directly through the Au Vert Tilleul website for cheaper rates without Air BnB fees.

  • three generation family chasing family history in the towns and on the beaches of WW1 and WW2. House was ideal, spotless and Monique was that rare breed of at risk of extinvtion- politesse and charm. She prepared us a typical local meal one evening and it and she were delightful. Highly recommend!!!

  • Wat hebben we een heerlijke verblijf gehad bij Monique. Prachtige gite, complete inrichting met oog voor detail, schoon (heel belangrijk!). We komen zeker terug!
