  • Everything is good!! Kind host, everything was prepared. We were late to go their house, but they greeted kindly. Quiet place, comfortable place to stay. Also they prepared something for morning meal.

  • We stayed one night at Vicki's, and enjoyed having the use of the entire basement. Lots and lots of space including a nicely-appointed bedroom and bathroom. Her children seemed to be quite thrilled when my two showed up, and they all seemed to have a pretty good time together.

There were beds, blow-up mattresses and sofas galore. It was a chilly night, though, and a little more bedding would have been welcome.

Overall, I would recommend a visit to Vicki and her family.

  • The place was wonderful! Everything was set up before we arrived and we had great places to stay. The small room downstairs was really wonderful with more ammenities than I needed. I would happily stay there again. Plus, they've got a beautiful family and a really funny dog.

  • My group and I loved staying at Vicki's. We were SO comfortable and felt abundantly accommodated for. It was too bad we had to hit the road so early because we didn't have much time at all to get to know each other, but she was very understanding. Not to mention she was an absolute lifesaver because our original accommodations fell through at the last minute and she got back to me very quickly. Definitely recommended!

  • This was my second Airbnb stay. My first Airbnb stay in San Diego, was booked by my son, straightforward, clean, safe, and uneventful in that it was operated in an automatic fashion, without a host or much of a soul. In my original online search for a Nebraska hotel room, my concerns were the expansiveness of Nebraska, safety, freeway/airport access, and the pervasive complaints of cigarette smoke smell in the hotel rooms. Coming from eco-California and having years to clean up commercial and public accessible locations, cigarette smoke/smell was a major concern.

As it turned out, all my concerns were unwarranted. The quiet location of the the Johnson's residence was immediately accessible to all freeways, fast food & sit down restaurants, Target, Walmart, gas stations, downtown, & airport. It was ideally positioned between the impersonal downtown business world and the rural areas. Being situated in the expansiveness of new suburbia, access, safety, and cleanliness were totally satisfied.

As someone that has traveled throughout the world for personal and business reasons, regardless of the accommodations I've grown tired of 'another hotel room.' As someone that values cultural and interpersonal experiences, when I travel I want more than just a clean and safe place to stay. Since when was a great hotel room memorable as the years passed? My purpose to come to Nebraska was to pick up our new Maltese puppy from the same small town breeder where we bought our first pup 11 years ago. After years of great communications with the breeder, I wanted personally experience more of the 'Midwest' stock and vibe. As it turned out, not only did we pick up our beautiful new family member, we found new friends and beautiful people in the Johnson family. The basic elements and needs of living accommodations ended up being a given and the least of our worries.

The entire stay was extraordinarily warm, comfortable, and memorable. We were warmly greeted upon our arrival, their children are beautiful and a testament to great upbringing, their home was clean and inviting, we all came and left without impacting each other's schedule, but most importantly, this is exactly what an ideal Airbnb experience should be like. It's understandable for anyone that travels to be concerned for the basic elements of safety and hygiene, but rarely do we focus enough on the value of the interpersonal exchange, having the opportunity to chat, compare our lives, and ultimately allowing a sense of respect and endearment to happen. For the previous visitor that negatively commented on the use of paper bowls/cups, you are missing the greater picture of being invited into a real home of a great family, that wants to extend its version of hospitality. In the end, it's about delivering as promised, a fair exchange and value, and a memorable experience that is without any regrets for everyone. I'm grateful for this opportunity and can only hope future Airbnb experiences can measure up. The ENTIRE Johnson family was alone worth the stay.
