Charming old cabin with modern skylight extension close to great beaches and wild nature. Situated in quiet area. Also its only 90 km to Copenhagen. Great for friends and kids or just a couple who wants to get away and have some peace.

The Alhambra Summer House is from 1975.
Its very charming, practical and private.

Its situated only 1 hour from Copenhagen and has a beautiful sandy beach only 10 minutes away on foot.
Alhambra is a perfect place for kids or a small group of friends who wants to experience the beautiful area of Odsherred, that has nature protected rolling hills, forrest and meadows, as well as unspoiled deserted beaches with clear water and children friendly depths. Perfect for long walks in an area that constantly changes scenery. Fishing is great to. (Mind you - you will need to buy a permit from the post office or at the internet).

Alhambra is consisting of a main house with a charming bedroom (1 double bed, a single bed plus an extra madras just in case - and a round window), a living room with a red fold out sleeping sofa (for 2 persons) extended out to a spacious high ceiling living/dining room with a huge sofa and access to new terrace just finished 9. May 2014. There is a skylight and you can watch the starts at night.
In the old house there is a little indoor kitchen with oven and electric cooking plates, but in the season the outdoor kitchen is so lovely so you might not need it.
There is a new fire oven in the living room - you can use it but have to buy your own firewood which is available nearby.
Connecting to the side building, there is a lovely covered and well functioning outdoor kitchen, with hot water and gas cookers. Its a really great place to cook (or even do the dishes in the evening sun) and the oven fits in the kitchen for more ambitious cooking. There is also a BBQ's available.
The kitchen area connects to a big wooden terrace and the side building, where there is another small cozy bedroom with a double bed and a very modern bathroom with a nice shower and heating in the floor - if needed out of season.

The garden is 1200m2.
I keep it a bit on the wild side since it resonates better with the area. In the back are currants and black currants, raspberries and rhubarbs for your pleasure in the season.
There is a hammock with room for two, that fits between two of the big trees in the front of the house. You can take a nap in it, or have a glass of wine with your partner!. The house has plenty pillows and warm wraps for the evenings, when you want to sit outside and enjoy the nordic light.

There is an organic farm in Ordrup close by (400 m). You will find smaller grill bars/kiosks, two restaurants and a organic cafe Den Blaa Ged (The Blue Goat) with homemade italian ice cream. You can buy bread there and local vegetables.
Supermarkets and bigger farm shops is in Fårevejle Kirkeby (3,5 km) and Fårevejle Stationsby (5 km). You can bike, but there is a lot of hills :)

The area is very safe and there is other houses near by. It was opened up for summerhouses in 1967..
About 5 km away is one of Denmarks oldest castles, Dragsholm Slot - now made in to a culinary retreat. Has two restaurants and serves the new modern Nordic Kitchen. Enjoy walks in a huge herb garden and a very nice park to.
Alhambra has 4 bikes for grownups and bigger kids.

Easy to get to with public transportation from Copenhagen.
Trains and 1 bus (about 1,5 hours). And a little walk. With a car its ca. 1 hour (95 km). Taxis are unfortunately not running anymore.

Please notice: You will have to bring sheets, kitchen towels and bathing towels. Also please note that check in/out time is at noon (12.00) unless we make another arrangements.
And very important – you are responsible for cleaning the house your self before departure so the next guests are happy.

Come visit, you will not regret!

All the best

I'm a danish Art Director from Copenhagen.
My house is a little charming gem in a super nice area. Great for a couple with young kids and perfect for a few friends.
It has no TV, but a nice CD player, radio and wireless internet.
But the charm is the house, the nature and the great beaches. Very children friendly and very peaceful.
Also its quite close to lovely Copenhagen.

If you need help I speak english, a bit german and some french (and swedish! :).
I can help with any advice and recommendation on Copenhagen as well.

Come visit :) and enjoy the nordic light of one of Denmarks most beautiful areas.
