Laurel is a wonderful host! We appreciated how accommodating she was of our late arrival since we couldn't get there until well after 1:00am. The loft bedroom was beautiful, clean, and spacious, with plenty of outlets for charging phones and tablets overnight. The beds and blankets were cozy and made for a desperately needed restful night's sleep. Our seven-year-old really liked her "secret hideout" sleeping cubby. The one drawback was that there was no night light. We had to lay down with our daughter until she was asleep. Total darkness in an unfamiliar place can be a bit intimidating for even the most intrepid of first graders. The morning's hot shower was rejuvenating, and we really appreciated the generous supply of towels, as well as soap and shampoo and conditioner. We were traveling almost a thousand miles for a funeral and our planning and packing had been rather slap-dash and last-minute. It was a relief not to have to worry about which bag had the essentials or if we had them at all. Laurel had coffee ready for us, as well as english muffins and coffee cake. She generously offered our daughter orange juice and yogurt as well. After a brief visit with Laurel's other guest in the comfortable and homey kitchen, we enjoyed our coffee in the lovely back sun room. We watched birds building a nest, snuggled one of Laurel's cats, and thoroughly enjoyed the peace of the wooded property. There is a hot tub in the sun room. If we ever get the opportunity to stay with Laurel again, we would love to try it out. Laurel's home is lovely and comfortable and clean -- and such a respite. I feel so fortunate that we had her home as a place to rest and regroup after the first day of travel during such a sad and stressful time in our life. Laurel made us feel very welcome and ensured that we had everything that we needed. We highly recommend Laurel as a host.

I enjoyed staying at Laurel's place. She was great with communication and supplies. I looked for a quiet and homy place and I found it at Laurel's. Laurel was warm, friendly and considerate. I enjoyed getting acquainted with Laurel and other guests in the house. I started off my Thanksgiving Day riding Athena, Laurel's beautiful horse, which I really appreciated. I will stay at Laurel's again in the future if I find myself in need of a quiet place to stay.

We had a lovely stay at Laurel's hide-a-way! It was about 15 minutes to downtown Louisville and attractions such as the Louisville Slugger Museum, Mahammad Ali Museum, and Fraizer Museum. Many nearby distilleries and the like and of course the Ketucky Derby at Churchill Downs. We also loved the somewhat secluded setting amoungst a beautiful setting of forest like trees and bluegrass countryside. We also met Athena, Laurel's Thorougbred! We'd recommend you stay there!

Laurel was very accommodating and her home was perfect for our needs! We loved that it was outside of the city, but still easily accessible.

Laurel was a great host. She knows the area well and what's going on. The room was adequate, plenty of water pressure, and a great find when all of the area hotels were completely booked during my business trip. Beautiful home to relax in.
