The Space

Since I only rent to 1 party (2 guests max) at a time it is likely you will be enjoying the entire home by with a lot of privacy! Thus it is a VERY unique "self serve" bed and breakfast experience which includes breakfast (refrigerator is stocked with breakfast items of your choice) and A LOT of privacy to enjoy a nice 3 bedroom/2 bath! You would be sharing the place with just me thus a lower rate applies. However the room has a 2 person maximum.

The best thing about my vacation home and breakfast is that it is completely custom! If you want anything in particular for breakfast I will make sure the refrigerator is stocked accordingly during your stay! And my home has everything a visitor needs to enjoy a clean, comfortable, safe and peaceful visit to San Diego.

The room is a nice private room with access to the hall bath and includes access to the entire home. The room is 12' X 11' and has DirecTV, high speed WiFi, and a fairly new (purchased in June 2013) VERY comfortable QUEEN size bed, small desk and solid core room door for additional privacy and noise reduction.

You will have a breakfast of your choice! Just let me know what you would like and I will stock the fridge for you!!!

Bottled water, fruit, chocolate, mints and to go snacks for sightseeing trips or your trip home.

Check in whenever you like! Just let me know when you will arrive and I make arrangements for you to get inside my home and leave instructions on the home basics (securing the home, night lights, WiFi access, laundry, garage access, etc)

SOLID core room door that blocks out a lot of house noise for additional privacy, comfort and tranquility.

Clean linen and plenty of towels for your stay.

Plenty of appliances, dishes, silverware, etc for cooking meals. If you need anything else just let me know!

Maps, brochures, city tour information, directions and a San Diego welcome on how to enjoy San Diego like a local!

Much HIGHER cleaning standards than the hotels as all of my beds contain Protect-A-Bed protective coverings (protects against bed bugs, dust mites, & moisture), the comforter and mattress cover are washed after EACH guest, sheets are fairly new (purchased in July 2013) and changed after each guest, the bathroom is cleaned and sanitized after each guest and the dishes, glasses, silverware and cups are new (purchased in July 2013) and sanitized in the dishwasher after each use.

Guest Access

Renting the room includes the following:

Access to the entire home including living room w/ fireplace, kitchen, dining room, backyard patio, office and washer and dryer.

Garage parking for your vehicle so feel free to leave things in the car that you don't want to remove. (Many guests have stated that this feature made them feel so secure about their vehicle and contents and was the main reason they booked with me.)

Use of concierge office for business travelers who need to work from home or in the evenings

Interaction with Guests

I only rent to one guest at a time so you will have no other person in the home other than me. Most people enjoy the privacy of renting a room without having to interact with other guests. Most of the time I will likely be gone as well!

The Neighborhood

It is located in the center of the entire county which means it is 20 minutes or less to all major beaches, the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Downtown Gaslamp District, Petco Park, San Diego Convention Center, and other major city attractions. It is also 30 minutes or less to ALL other parts of the county including San Diego Zoo Safari Park, Lego Land, Carlsbad Flower Fields, the Mexican border and all major San Diego county Indian casinos.

Getting around

The home is about 15 minutes walking distance from the 44 bus line. The 44 bus line will take you to Clairemont Square and south to Old Town Trolley station where you will have access to the Coaster, Amtrak & the famous San Diego Trolley. However our central San Diego location is best enjoyed with a personal car or rental car!

Note: while public transportation is doable it is not recommended so having a rental car is preferred as you will have a NICE CLEAN garage to park it in!

Other Things to Note

The most important aspect of my bed and breakfast is that it is named after my late mother (affectionately known as Aunt Sally) who always welcomed guests in her home! {smile mom}

  • Jeffery is an amazing host, his house immaculate and inviting, and Jeffery himself is a very inspiring person! He is the embodiment of the word "hospitality", and being a single woman, traveling alone, I felt EXTREMELY safe and comfortable in his home. I left after a very stressful day and only a one-night stay feeling very peaceful & refreshed from being in his home. I normally don't sleep well in unfamiliar places, but I slept like a rock because of the vibe of the house and the bed was SUPER comfy. I was really disappointed that I could only stay one night- he was booked solid for the rest of the week, and rightly so!
The neighborhood is safe, quiet, and you can't beat the location- smack dab in the middle of San Diego, near all the major freeways, about as central as it gets!
This was my second Airbnb experience, and both have been EXCELLENT! Thank you Jeffery. :)

  • Great host! The property was good for our stay in San Diego - less than 15 mins to the city, just 2 mins to the freeway and a nice residential neighbourhood. Jeffery was very welcoming to me and my family

  • Jeffrey is an excellent host. He is extremely thoughtful and helpful. The place is simple and spacious, but most importantly, the neighborhood is really quiet and safe! I'll most definitely go back to Jeffrey's place if I'm ever back in San Diego.

  • Jeffery, our first-rate host, is a most interesting man. He’s affably accommodating, highly organized, and an expert communicator. He leaves you to your privacy but when you want to chat, Jeffery will entertain with smart, witty conversation about any subject, maybe while cooking you a flavorful meal. Right, he’s also a first-rate cook. Through his kindness and generosity, I was able to extend my stay giving me ample time to get settled somewhere in San Diego. His house is an older one to be sure, but this is not a bad thing. It’s cozy and clean. The Zen frugality and effort with which he maintains his home for guests was inspiring to see firsthand especially considering that he was away for business most of the time. It’s important to read his thorough, informative listing because everything he describes is as you’ll encounter and experience it and then some. I already had the perfect triple of my own bedroom, bathroom and garage parking. You will find yourself making use of the entire home and its amenities--kitchen, chocolates, dining area, living room, chocolates--even if you didn’t think you’d need to, because he invites you to do so. He will fully stock the refrigerator with whatever breakfast food you want. You may be lucky enough to be home when he’s home from his work trips and he cooks a delicious meal for you (everything he cooks is delicious, but the shrimp gumbo and the fish and shrimp tacos were my favorites).

Jeffery named his bed and breakfast after his mother, affectionately known as Aunt Sally. He honors her memory by his first-class hosting. It was a pleasure to stay at Aunt Sally’s.

  • I was looking for a place to hang my hat while visiting the family, and Jeffery's house was perfect for me. It was a good location - easy to get to the freeways, and easy access to the house through the garage. Jeffrey was a hospitable (if absent) host. He left goodies throughout the house that could be useful for travelers. The house was plenty large for one or two people, and the orange trees in back were full of fruit. Jeffery also went out of his way to make sure that I had the supplies to make my breakfast smoothies. I would gladly stay here the next time I visit San Diego.

    Response from Jeffery:

Thanks Shelley. It was a pleasure to host you although we did not meet. Your daughter was also very nice and I appreciate her willingness to come by and meet me, get the key and allow me to introduce her to the house. Please come visit again and I look forward to hosting you in the future! HAPPY HOLIDAYS and have a GREAT 2014!!!

  • We had a great time in San Diego spending three nights at Jeffrey's house. We could park our rental car in the garage which was brilliant. The bed was very comfy and harvesting organic oranges for breakfast was fun and tasty!! Jeffery even arranged dinner for us to meet us as he could not be with us due to work outside San Diego. We enjoyed his hospitality and can really recommend staying with him!! Thank you Jeffery for a great Time in San Diego.

  • A terrific place to stay! Jeffery was indeed a wonderful, friendly host. He was very kind and picked me up from the station, and arranged someone to take me to the station on my last day because he wasn't available. The breakfasts were delicious and the my room was very clean. I couldn't fault my stay. I would definitely recommend his home. Thanks Jeffery.

  • Jeffery (email hidden). He had made arrangements for someone else to prepare breakfast when he was out of town on business (which seemed quite unnecessary so I just enjoyed having the house to myself instead).

  • Jeffery was welcoming (email hidden)! His place was super clean. Not only were we fed each morning, we also were provided with water and extras snacks. I was in town for work, and by far much better service than I would have received at a hotel. Jeffery is such a warm person and a great location to stay at. It's near major freeways and great restaurants.
