In addition to the room, guests will have access to their own private bathroom (next to the room), and also share the kitchen area which has a dining table. The washer/dryer is available for an extra fee of £5 per cycle with prior permission from us. Guests can also access the wi-fi network and Sky tv in their room. We also live in the flat upstairs.
Guests are not permitted to bring strangers into the flat and no-one outside of the original booking. If they want to have guests, they need to ask our permission beforehand but this is normally limited to their immediate family members and loved ones.
I enjoyed staying in Simon's apartment. It's easily reachable and located centrally, while still quiet enough so that you can open the window without too much noise (I like some fresh air while sleeping).
Lesser points were that the bed might be too short when you're over 6 feet and sleeping there with two persons. By myself it was fine but with two persons it might be a bit cramped.
Also I found the toilet-seat not clean. Perhaps the serviceman used it during the day while fixing some stuff in the apartment. I expect this was an incident as other than that, the apartment looked clean and tidy.
Miel, as we discussed after you left, my builders had made numerous repairs to the room before you arrived to address general maintenance and to keep my high standards intact. This included a shower light that was changed after I had cleaned the bathroom. I can only guess they used the toilet right before you came as they left only 5 minutes before you arrived. Yes, the room is also not as large as I would like as London homes are never so spacious as we want unless you are very wealthy!
Great location, close to tube station. Good facilities and comfy bed. Simon, our host was out of the UK for the weekend we arrived. In the property description it stated there was work being done to the roof and Simon told us there had been a leak in the kitchen the day prior to our arrival.
Our first morning we were wakened by builders at 7.30am and didn't realise they had access inside the flat.Simon apologised and said he had arranged for a 9am start. Sunday we were wakened at 6am by water leaking from the bedroom ceiling. I emailed Simon who apologised and told us to move the bed to avoid it getting wet, he also contacted the builder. We got up to find no hot water available so contacted again, Simons arranged for a boiler repair so that was fixed by our return that evening. We met Simon on Tuesday and he apologised again and noted other minor issues we had. On Wednesday as we prepared for a special occasion the builders switched the power off to sockets, this again was resolved by Simon contacting the builders. We did communicate our disappointment and in fairness Simon did apologise and try to resolve matters to the best of his ability. This would be a great property but I would not recommend renting while current building work is ongoing
Stephanie and her husband unfortunately had several things go wrong in the flat at the same time. They were all connected with some work I was having done upstairs which has now finished. When these things happened, I did my very best to solve them as quickly as possible. This included getting the boiler fixed on a Sunday while I was away in the Czech Republic planning my 2015 wedding. On the positive side, Stephanie and her husband mostly had the flat to themselves as I was staying at my fiancés flat after our Prague trip.
First and most important, Simon is very nice and a great host. It was very easy to communicate with him using WhatsApp before and during our stay. The apartment is beautiful, the bed is super comfortable, the shower is awesome, the location is superb (one min walk from the tube and some great restaurants in the area), and although Simon also lives in the house we only saw him in check- in. To summarize: we had a great time and we will definitely recommend this apartment.
Simon's apartment is modern, clean and perfectly located. The room is cozy, private and just next door to the ultra-modern private bathroom. Simon is a great person and a kind host, who lives in a different floor and is hardly seen at all, but is quick to help whenever any need arise. Great stay!
Simon offers a comfortable and clean room. The bathroom is outside of the room. It's a new and modern bathroom. You can also use the kitchen and parts of the living room. The place is exactly as described. It's modern, neat and nice.
About the Host, Simon
Our spare room is available for a great London experience and our flat has been recently renovated to a high boutique hotel standard. You would have your own private bathroom with large shower and share the kitchen with us. Fulham is a great area close to all major attractions.
We enjoy hosting people from all over the world via AirBnB and try hard to make our guests feel as comfortable as possible in their home away from home :) We can provide lots of personal recommendations for things to experience in Fulham and beyond so you maximise your time in the best way possible.
Travel is my passion having seen 109 nations on all 7 continents so I know the demands of international travellers. My favourite places to visit were Santorini in the Greek Islands, Rajastan in India, Cape Town in South Africa, Rio de Janiero in Brasil, St Tropez in the South of France and Japan. We hope you enjoy London, a city we love, and Carpe Diem in life!
