  • Dee and Efrain are great. What a pleasure they were to deal with. The neighborhood is a bit shaky.

  • Well i would like to start by saying Dee was a terrific host! she was willing to go above and beyond to help us figure out our next move. Although we were not that prepared with tickets to machu picchu or transportation she was willing to research and give us options. She was so sweet and the cottage was beautiful! i would definitely recommend it to everyone. I would definitely like to return to cusco valley and stay here again!!!

  • This is a wee bit of Peruvian paradise! Highly recommended to stay here for some r&r in the sacred valley. Not only are the space and surroundings magical, but Dee is a warm and thoughtful host who helped us with everything we needed (dinner reservations, taxis, massage and even emergency dental care). I cannot wait to return!! Even Sultan the dog was a great asset to the stay.

  • Dee was everything that (website hidden)3virus reviews suggested. She was exceptional and helped us out in a lot of ways. Very accommodating, friendly and knowldgeable about the Cuzco history. The cottage is beautiful, homely and highly recommend to others. Great location, peaceful and tranquil. Even our grown up boys enjoyed the stay. Shame it was not longer.

  • Dee and Efrain were wonderful hosts. We got great help in planning our activities prior to our arrival, especially in logistics of visiting Machu Picchu. Dee arranged for Migel to pick us up at the airport, and he was our driver throughout our stay. He was very conscientious and reliable. During our stay, we received great suggestions for places to visit and restaurants throughout the area. The cottage was just as pictured on the website, and the grounds were beautiful. Sultan, their dog was outstanding company, as he would often sleep by our front door. Julia the caretaker washed our clothes and made tamales for us. The stars at night were magical, and to see the Southern Cross was a thrill. During our stay, the evening temperature was cold and the fireplace in the living room was not sufficient to heat the house. We also had the misfortune to arrive just after some sewer work was done on the property, which left a lingering odor in the downstairs bath. Dee and Efrain did everything they could to make our stay as pleasant as possible, and we were all very appreciative for all they did.

  • Dee and Efrain warmly welcomed us to their beautiful and indeed cozy cottage in Urubamba in the Sacred Valley, Peru. The cottage is well-maintained and spotlessly clean and was perfect for me, my husband, our 2 teenage daughters, plus 2 colleagues. Breakfast was prepared daily at the cottage and we even got some help with our laundry. In other words, it was a relaxing stay at a pretty cottage with its own kitchen, living room, 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. The cottage is located within the Kay Pacha property of Dee and Efrain which includes their large, beautiful home, sprawling garden, swimming pool, massage and spa area. Sacred Valley is a good place to acclimatize for those planning a trip to Machupicchu as it is lower in altitude than Cuzco. We are grateful especially to Dee who not only arranged for a van to bring us to the Maras Salineras; the Moray Incan ruins; Misminay, an Andean village, where we savored a traditional Peruvian lunch; and Ollaytaytambo. Dee went out of her way and offered to act as our guide. We were very fortunate to have her with us as she is very knowledgeable of Peruvian history, culture, and speaks fluent English and Spanish. Thanks Dee for your time and effort. We truly appreciate it. This was truly a dream vacation and how we just wish we could have stayed longer. Dee and Efrain are excellent hosts, welcoming us into their own home. We would love to come back and stay at their cozy cottage and would highly recommend this to our friends. Thank you Dee and Efrain for a most wonderful stay in your beautiful cottage! Do visit us in the Philippines.

  • We stayed in the sacred valley from March 28-April 1, 2014. The house was a guest house of a beautiful main house outside of Urubamba, Sacred Valley, Peru. It is about 1 1/2 hours from Cusco by car. The setting was absolutely incredible and the mountains are beautiful! Dee was a wonderful and helpful host. She helped arranged our pickup at the airport and transportation to the house. The driver took us to the Llama sanctuary and Pisac market on the way down. She also arranged for a driver to take us to the Moray and Salt mines which was wonderful! She also recommended we hike back from the salt mines to Tunupu restaurant - which was wonderful! The taxi picked us up there for the ride back. She also confirmed our driver to take us to Ollantaytambo to catch the train to Machu Picchu and pick us up. She gave great recommendations for food and money exchange. She was very inviting and allowed us to roam about the beautiful property and use her pool. The scenery is truly spectacular! She was so helpful, kind, friendly and inviting. We loved visiting with her! The cottage had 3 bedrooms and 2 hot showers! There was ample space for our family of 5. There was a garden patio that was lovely to sit at in the morning. There was also a nice laundry machine and a clothes line to hang items on. We felt very safe at the house also. The reasons I rated it 4 instead of 5 stars were: there were an abundance of small ants all over the kitchen, kitchen table, and bathrooms. We also found spiders in some of our beds. I'm guessing this is normal for staying in such a wooded location. The roosters started crowing at 4am so going to bed early and earplugs were helpful. The wifi was spotty but worked enough for us to get what we needed. You do need to plan ahead to hire a taxi to go anywhere - however they are not expensive, and Dee provided a list of phone numbers and a local cell phone to use to call them. We mainly used Miguel and he only spoke spanish - he was VERY reliable. We did love our little slice of paradise. I would highly recommend it as a place to stay in the valley!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Dee and Efrain's guest house. It was exactly as pictured. Dee helped us plan our daily schedule of touring and had great suggestions on what to do with children.

We also greatly enjoyed Dee and Efrain's company. We enjoyed a glass of wine with them on our last evening and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We would love to come back soon!

I fell in love with this area, on my first visit 20 some years ago. Purchased our "dream" land shortly after and eventually moved here to live 5 years ago (after many lovely vacations in the original restored adobe cottage) My Peruvian husband and I lived many years in the USA (I'm British). We love to travel, and enjoy giving our guests the personalised attention that we ourselves would appreciate when out and about in the world. We enjoy making new friends from all over the world, our permanent home is on the property.Creating great experiences and memories is what its all about for us. Join us for a glass of wine at the campfire!
