We were so impressed! The best Airbnb ever! The garden is breathtaking. The house is very clean and tastefully decorated. You can do a bonfire and watch the stars. It is located in Urubamba which is closer to the train station that takes you to Machu Picchu and the altitude is not as bad a Cusco so that really helps. Dee provided us with a driver named Paloma and she was simply incredible. She picked us up from the Cusco airport and gave us a nice tour for a very reasonable price. She also recommended a tour in Buggies ( you cannot miss this if you are the adventurous type). This was an overall amazing experience and would highly recommend to anyone.

First off, we always read review before we book, and ive never seen a listing with as many 5-star reviews as this one. We were not disappointed! We tend to do our own thing and rent a car and not stay in too many guest houses where the main house is occupied by the owner. Being such a far off land, we made an exception for this vacation and it was the right choice. We had Miguel- their most frequently used driver pick up up at the airport and bring us to the property. We also used Miguel for a ride to and from the train station the day we went to Machu Picchu, as well as a trip to Pisac ruins and Market. Once we gained a familiarity with house easy the local transportation is, we were able to take a combi or colectivo to another town and back for just a few soles. And get a tuk-tuk ride back from the market for 4 or 5 soles. The market is about a half hour walk but we often got a ride home since we tad heavy watermelons and other fresh produce. The location is ideal for exploration of the Sacred Valley. the house is suitable for 3 couples, so with just one couple it was way more than we needed. There is also a studio apartment on the property that is also rented, but no one was there during our 9 day stay. The gated yard is full of beautiful landscaping details, flowers, herbs and even some vegetables which we were free to utilize. We didn't have the opportunity to interact much with Efrain, although we were invited up,to the main house (100 meters away) to watch a football game one night- we were just too tired to make it. It is Dee who really runs the rental thing from what I can tell, and while it may help pay for one of the grounds crew or the maid (Wilma does your dishes by the way), it's really something she does because she loves to share this beautiful area and it's rich history with people from around the world. She was a great resource to us during our stay and was still sure to preserve our privacy and autonomy during our time there. You could not ask for a kinder hostess, and Dee does everything she can to make sure your vacation here is a good one. My wife and I stay in a lot of vacation rentals both domestic and abroad and we have never had an experience like Kay Pacha. Thanks for everything Dee. We hope to return one day!

Dee an Efrain's place was just wonderful. Very comfortable cabin-like house right next to their main house. They have everything you may need for a very comfortable stay. They have a book full of recommendations on things to do, places to eat, taxi driver, you name it. Every day they have someone come and clean the house and replenish things like the fire wood for the fireplace, which is a really nice touch. They have trustworthy taxi drivers that you can call to take you into town. They were quite a bit more expensive than what we were used to paying in Cuzco, but I would say it was worth it. Also, if you are visiting here during this time, I would bring some warm sleeping clothes because it can get cold at night.

Though the home is a bit 'off the beaten path' and tough to find, we managed to arrive at Kaypacha without issue. We were greeted warmly by our helpful and gracious hosts, and they had done so much to make us feel at home--fresh flowers on our pillows, snacks in the refrigerator, and fresh bread from the market. We adored the cottage, and wished we had more time to explore the grounds in between trips to the ruins across the Sacred Valley. Dee communicated clearly and consistently throughout the booking and traveling process, and provided great recommendations for things to do outside of Urubamba. Overall a fantastic booking and traveling experience--and I'd recommend anyone to stay in the cottage if you have the opportunity!

Response from Dee And Efrain:
Please see our location ratings. We are not so off the beaten path . This seems to be an impression created only when people use an agency from Cusco city, the drivers are used to dropping off at the hotels and no so familiar with the area. They tend to go all around the houses before getting here. We always offer to arrange and recommend using a reliable local driver for pick up, to avoid this. 99% of our guests accept our offer and have had no problem at all. Sorry that you were given this impression NIck.

This place is ahhhhhmazing. Seriously if you have the chance to stay here, do yourself the favor and do it. It has everything you could possibly want in a getaway home. Dee the host was very pleasant and paid so much attention to details. Our trip would not have been the same if we didn't stay in this Airbnb.

I fell in love with this area, on my first visit 20 some years ago. Purchased our "dream" land shortly after and eventually moved here to live 6 years ago (after many lovely vacations in the original restored adobe cottage) My Peruvian husband and I lived many years in the USA…
