Jimmy's place is very nice. Very good location since it is just across Joyce Skytrain station. His place is a bachelor's type apartment with a nice red couch and big tv. I highly recommend his place to anyone staying in Vancouver.
Jimmy went out of his way to deliver the keys to me. The gate was broken so it would have been difficult for him to let us in, so he gave the keys to my friend the night before. His place is a studio with the bed right behind the couch. It was a cozy place that was perfect for the two of us. We would occasionally hear the sky train so I wouldn't recommend this place for sensitive sleepers, but we weren't woken up once during our 2 night stay. Cheers Jimmy!
My boyfriend and I stayed at Jimmy's apartment for 2 nights and loved it. We arrived hours later than the expected arrival time I had previously confirmed with Jimmy and he was very accommodating and nice about meeting us at a later time to give us the key and show us around the apartment complex. The apartment itself is very safe and quiet. The view from the 11th floor was awesome and the bed was very comfortable. We were always able to find street parking right in front of the entrance and the SkyTrain station (Joyce-Collingwood) is literally right across the street as well. I highly recommend Jimmy's place and we'll definitely stay here again next time we visit.
Hey everybody who is looking for a nice place to stay in Vancouver. I don´t know where to start because the Apartment and Jimmy are both awesome and I stayed there for 4 months so it´s kind of hard for me to give just a small overview. The Apartment has everything you need for a short or a long stay there. The building is located in the very east of Vancouver (last stop in Vancouver next to Burnaby) directly next to the Skytrain (there are two lines running and both stop at the Joyce Station so you can hardly go in the wrong direction from Waterfront Station in DT). You really have a nice view of Downtown Burnaby and also the (website hidden) is the perfect base to discover Vancouver and Burnaby because of the easy access to the public transport system including the nearby nightbus stop. The people living there are all very friendly and like Vancouver totally multi cultural. For those who are intrested in shopping the Metrotown Metropolis Mall is just 2 stops away or a 15-20 min walk which is very nice especially if you walk through the Central Park. There you can find everything from groceries (Real Canadian Superstore, Target, TNT...) to designer fashion labels and a big food court which is not to bad when you´re having a lazy day and you don´t want to cook. It is also close to the Kingsway where you can find for example the 7 eleven to buy the monthly skytrain ticket, Safeway, lots of small asian grocery stores and places to go out for bf, lunch or dinner (everything walkable). For a trip to Downtown Vancouver you´ll need 15-20mins via Skytrain depending on where you wanna go and you wanna go there often because Vancouver has a lot to offer(If you need some inspiration because you don´t know what to do you can find a "tourist information centre" inside the Apartment consisting of guides and flyers about the different attractions in Vancouver/BC or just ask Jimmy ;-))
Jimmy was a great host. He made my 4 months as comfortable as possible. He took me to Cypress Mountain for Snowboarding and when my bottled water was running out we went to Costco to buy some new.He also brought me missing things like a baking tray or the detergent for the dishwasher. I also got the wifi key which provides you with wifi nearly all over Downtown so in my case I don´t had to buy a canadian sim card.
As a conclusion there is just one thing to say: I can highly recommend Jimmys Apartment you won´t regret (website hidden):treat the Apartment like it´s your own because I wanna come back in summer and stay there again ;-) :-D
best regards from Germany
Want a great place to stay that's minutes away from downtown or Metrotown coupled with a great host, then this place is for you. It's located right across from Joyce Skytrain station. During weekdays prior to 6:30 pm you just need to (email hidden) transit ticket for $2.75 unless you are heading east. If you are visiting, plan to go outside the one zone area after 6:30 pm or during weekends or buy a day pass for under $10. You will get two keys so two people can do their separate things without having to coordinate plans. There's no phone line but who goes traveling without a cell phone these days? All in all a terrific place to stay for as long as you like and I would recommend this place to my friends. Thank you Jimmy for your quick responses, being so flexible and accommodating.
Jimmy is a great host and this is a great apartment! We stayed for 12 days. You have everything in this apartment - washer, dryer, fridge, cable tv, wifi, stove, bathtub, balcony. And its right across the Skytrain! Jimmy also showed us the city and some good beer! Awesome. I definately recommend staying in his apartment. It is perfect, trust me.
Jimmy was a fantastic host!
First, when we arrived at his residence, he was punctual in meeting us by the curb. Second, he was very thorough in illustrating the amenities and security features of the apartment. Third, a clean apartment with fresh towels and linens were provided. Fourth, and most importantly, he was a kind and gentle soul. He provided us information on where to shop and where to dine out. In addition, he gave us tips on how to use the skytrain effectively to our multiple planned destinations. My boyfriend and I would love to stay at his place again!
I only met Jimmy for 5 minutes, he explained what I needed to know, and I didn't have any problems during my stay. The apartment gets a bit hot but the AC takes care of that. It's quiet, clean and comfortable so I would definitely choose it again. I can only recommend Jimmy's place for everybody, but please leave a spot for me :)
Jimmy is very friendly and communicative. He was there right on time to give us the keys to the apartment and some information about the city. The apartment is quite nice, pretty small but comfortable for two people. The best part is the building is right across the street from the SkyTrain, Vancouver’s truly excellent metro system — it takes about five minutes from the time you leave the apartment until you’re on a train into the city, they come through the station extremely often.
Jimmy and his place are BOTH awesome. Jimmy kept in good contact with us prior to the booking and was also very responsive during our stay. His place is comfortable, and very importantly for me, was clean and had good facilities like washer, dryer, good shower pressure etc. Jimmy is a top guy and we enjoyed the brief meet! We did find some noise at night if we opened the windows but really we have no complaints and would not hesitate to recommend both Jimmy and this place! Enjoy Vancouver!
