Gas run out so we cannot use the private bathroom. But Raul let us use his and changed the gas early next morning. I have to complain about the breakfast. Only a cat may be satisfied with such a little pieces of apple and banana, and two small pieces of bread.
Raul is very cool, and knows some great places to check out in Guanajuato. His house is very comfortable and has a great view!
We loved staying at El Catrin. We arrived a bit late, but were welcomed very warmly. We were able to go to Raul and the other staff members for advice about the city. We could ask to have breakfast on the roof terrace that gives a beautiful view over the city. Our room was perfect, even a little too big since we had an extra room attached to our room. The only downside was that the windows were quite thin, which was only a problem in the morning when the church bells rang, other than that it was very silent.
El Catrin seems to still be in the process of being completed, but that said, it's a lovely little relaxed B&B. Both the rooms we stayed in lacked a few furnishings, but again, it seemed like they were in the process of working on it. We had nice breakfasts in the morning, there's a roof with a great view of the city, and given the hilliness of the city it's fairly close to the center, with only a 3-5 minute climb uphill. Raul is really helpful and friendly, and made us feel at home. All around good experience and would stay there again for sure.
