Old Louisville...Heart of It All

Apartment - Private room · West Ormsby Avenue, Louisville, KY 40203, United States

The Space

We moved from the East Coast in 2012 and have kept ourselves busy exploring our new city. While Bourbon, all-things Louisville Cardinals, The Kentucky Derby and the St. James Arts Festival are the city's staples, Louisville is also filled with great eats, amazing (email hidden)ly arts scene and some really genuine folks--very comparable to other major cities such as NY, Chi-town, Philly and San Fran without breaking the bank! During your stay, we'll be equipped and eager to share and recommend some of the city's gems!

Our humble adobe, yes we said adobe not abode :) is a huge two-bedroom apartment with hardwood floors and LOTS of natural light. We believe sharing is caring, and seeing as how we will be sharing our toilet and common areas, we also look forward to sharing: conversation, a bowl of cereal, and/or a glass of wine with our guests (no pressure). We reside in an apartment complex in Old Louisville, one of the most eclectic and charming neighborhoods in the city--beautifully historic preserved homes, bike friendly roads, tree-lined streets, all within a diverse community and a short distance away from just about everything:

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Arlene showed us amazing warmth and hospitality (Teresa was out of town, so we didn't get to meet her, but we're sure she's amazing too!). We were in Louisville for the Kentucky Derby Marathon, and truly appreciated having such a beautiful, comfortable space where we could rest the night before the race. We were also very grateful to Arlene for saying we could come back afterward for a much-needed shower and nap before our drive home! There was even a little basket in our room with extra water bottles, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and soap. Very nice touch. Finally, we LOVED the puppies. All three were very affectionate and endearing. Thanks again for everything!

  • We loved our first stay here so much that we didn't hesitate to stay with them again. The apartment is in a great location and very comfortable. Arlene and Teresa were very easy to communicate with before and during our stay. They were flexible with our arrival time and were a pleasure to chat with.

  • Teresa and Arlene were lovely. I was in Louisville attending a conference and so spent little time in their place but was grateful to have a clean, comfortable room to return to each night. A downtown bound bus stops by their building though I found it very pleasant to make the 15 minute walk each day.

I would recommend them for their warmth and hospitality.

  • Nice and friendly hosts. The place is very clean and plenty of space. In my 5 days stay I saw the hosts just 3 times. Each time we had a nice chat. Great spot.

  • What a lovely home to arrive at after a long day of driving - Arlene Y Teresa were welcoming, helpful and accommodating - perfect hosts! Thank you ladies - sad I was only around for the one night as Louisville looks like a wonderful place to spend a few days and this location would be the ideal place to see all the city has to offer.

  • Arlene and Teresa are amazing hosts! They made us feel at home. The apartment is identical to the pictures! Loved that they shared places to visit. If I am ever in the area again, I will be sure to stay with them again.

  • I had a really great time with Arlene and Teresa! They are so cool and helpful. Highly recommended!

  • Great apartment in a charming old building. Spotlessly clean, very accommodating and Arlene y Teresa are super-cool. The neighborhood may feel slightly off the beaten path, but it's on a frequent bus route, and Louisville just isn't that huge so you're close to everything. Definitely recommend.

  • Arlene and Teresa were such fantastic hosts. The apartment was really lovely and I had use of all communal areas as I pleased. They were even happy for me to spend a day in my pyjamas watching the TV! I had such a great experience staying with them and I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to stay in Louisville.

  • Beautiful home and lovely private room. Teresa & Arlene were friendly and helpful, and it felt like staying with friends! Beautiful historic homes, and a large park nearby ... lovely to wake up in the morning and look outside.

The neighborhood was 30 minute walking distance from the waterfront where my conference was located, but buses are frequent (every 10 minutes), and very efficient! Skip the taxi and take the bus from the airport ... the #2 bus drops off just four blocks away.

The neighborhood is mostly residential, so the closest option for healthy meals is walking south to the University of Louisville, where there many student-friendly restaurants ... and bubble tea!

This was a comfortable, serene and homey experience. I would be happy to stay here again.
