Our humble adobe, yes we said adobe not abode :) is a huge two-bedroom apartment with hardwood floors and LOTS of natural light. We believe sharing is caring, and seeing as how we will be sharing our toilet and common areas, we also look forward to sharing: conversation, a bowl of cereal, and/or a glass of wine with our guests (no pressure). We reside in an apartment complex in Old Louisville, one of the most eclectic and charming neighborhoods in the city--beautifully historic preserved homes, bike friendly roads, tree-lined streets, all within a diverse community and a short distance away from just about everything:
Louisville International Airport (SDF) -- 10 min drive (5.0 miles)
Central Park; St. James Court -- 5 min walk
Downtown Louisville (KFC Yum Center; Actors Theatre; Muhammad Ali Center; Kentucky Arts Center; 4th Street Live) -- 25 min walk; 7 min drive (1.5 miles)
Churchhill Downs -- 35 min walk; 9 min drive (2.0 miles)
University of Louisville -- 20 min walk; 5 min drive (1.0 mile)
The Highlands: Bardstown Road/Baxter Avenue -- 9 min drive (3.0 miles)
Frankfort Avenue -- 15 min drive (5.0 miles)
Cherokee Park -- 15 min drive (5.0 miles)
NuLu -- 10 min drive (2.0 miles)
While Bourbon, all-things Louisville Cardinals, The Kentucky Derby and the St. James Arts Festival are the city's staples, Louisville is also filled with great eats, an amazing lively arts scene, and some really genuine folks--very comparable to other major cities such as NY, Chi-town, Philly and San Fran without breaking the bank! During your stay, we'll be equipped and eager to share and recommend some of the city's gems!

I felt like I was visiting family. Arlene and Teresa were wonderful hosts! The guest bed was comfortable, the apartment was clean, their restaurant recommendations were spot on and their dogs are adorable. We had a great visit and would definitely stay there again.
Arlene Y Teresa were great hosts! The apartment is lovely. Our bedroom was flawlessly decorated. I felt welcomed in a city I had never been to before. Arlene (I did not meet Teresa) could not have been more helpful and nice to me and my friends. This may have been my first time using Air BnB but I couldn't have asked for a better outcome. 10/10 would stay there again!
Very nice hosts. I especially appreciated the bottled water and the little basket of toiletries they left beside the bed. The toiletry basket came in handy when I realized I had forgotten to pack deodorant.
Great host(s), very nice people, and super accommodating. Overall it was a very pleasant experience!
Arlene and Teresa are delightful hosts. We enjoyed talking with them and we enjoyed meeting their friendly and lovable dogs. We liked their neighborhood in Old Louisville. We walked to a great neighborhood restaurant named Amici where we had a tasty and pleasant dinner. Their apartment in enchanting and our room was comfortable and nicely decorated. We would welcome an opportunity to stay with them again.
Arlene and Teresa were such a pleasant couple; I felt like I was meeting old friends. I appreciate their willingness to work with my schedule as I checked into their home later that evening. Their home was charming, clean, and warm, and their hospitality was excellent. I didn't have any issues sharing the bathroom. And the location is ideal for those who need to go to the U of L campus (on Preston St). I had an interview at U of L the next morning, and the drive took only 7 minutes by car! About off-street parking: I didn't have issues finding a parking space once Arlene advised me where to park. Also, I loved their dogs!! They're extremely friendly and sweet!
Thanks for making my stay so comfortable and enjoyable!
Great, comfy space in a wonderful historic neighborhood. Teresa was easy to get in touch with and had GREAT recommendations for everything. Our first experience with a shared space on AirBnB and we really enjoyed it!
We're a same sex couple, moms of two -- Sonny (cavachon) and Billie (terrier mix), social justice advocates, unbigoted consummate foodies, wine lovers, globetrotting aficionados, bookworms, and music enthusiasts--by way of Brooklyn, NY setting some roots here in Louisville. After experiencing some serious hospitality as guests of AirBnB hosts, we could not help but to pay it forward!
