Our place is great if you like to be in a quiet neighborhood with lots of privacy. You can hear the birds chirping while you take in the views from our living room and deck. Kids like our place too as we have a big yard, treehouse and rope swing. Enj
We have a great house in the woods. We are only a 30 minute drive from San Francisco (depending on traffic). We have three bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms (recently remodeled), cable TV, WiFi, computer/office, modern appliances and recently remodeled kitchen. From our front deck there are great views of the Ross Valley. It is a nice place to sit and have a glass of wine. We also have a large yard and garden complete with hammock and a tree house. There is lots of open space for those who love to hike, mountain bike or run only minutes away. In fact, we have super easy access to one of Marin County's best mountain biking trails (Camp Tamarancho). Our house can comfortably sleep six. The kids room has full size bunk bed, the master bedroom has a queen size bed and the guestroom has a sofa bed. Our neighborhood is quiet and the neighbors are friendly. It is about a 15 minute walk down the hill to downtown Fairfax where there are bars with good live music, a movie theater and plenty of restaurants with different types of food. From downtown you can easily catch a bus to San Francisco. In my opinion Fairfax is the best town in Marin!
Make yourself at home. We do have two cats that will be hanging out. They are friendly and low maintenance. If you eat our food please consider replacing it before you leave. Treat our house as you would your own. Thanks!
This house was just gorgeous! Tucked way up into the hills, it had breathtaking views, and was so comfortable. The driveway was too steep for my friend's 10 year old Corolla (even in second gear), so she had to park on the road, but my newer car made it fine. The playground (complete with a kid-sized zipline) was a huge plus for our 4 year old traveling buddy. We also loved the two super friendly cats, who made us feel right at home. And the hottub was a great way to end our days!
We had an excellent stay at Tristan 's house. The kids enjoyed the garden and the cats. Situated off the main road and very quiet.
Good Communications, well-appointed kitchen, beautiful view and lovely outdoor space. Might be helpful to know that cats are long-haired indoors & if you're susceptible to allergies, you should stay upstairs & bring your own linens. Otherwise, a very pleasant stay & just as described. We were very happy & so was our dog!
Great house in the Marin hills. It has a fantastic, large, very private outdoor space.
Perfect place to stay while visiting Marin. Close to downtown Fairfax, which has fun cafés and bars. Central to all that Marin has to offer outdoors wise as well as restaurant wise. Plus getting to the ferry to San Francisco is a breeze(and easier than driving into the city). Nice kitchen and bedrooms. Great patios and yard. Just a nice place.
This is a sweet, cozy home in a gorgeous location! We enjoyed our stay at Tristan's very much. The view, the yard, the well-appointed kitchen, all helped make for a wonderful stay. It was easy to shoot into SF for a day-trip as well as to explore the awesome beauty of Marin County. The cats made us feel very welcome, too!
I am a father of a 10 year old boy and 9 year old girl. My wife is from San Diego and I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. We love to travel and have adventures. We also love the outdoors and we are very active people. Our kids are enthusiastic about it all. We are also animal people. we like our pets and are happy to care for other people's pets. I lived in South America for a couple of years where I worked as a Peace Corps Volunteer. My wife taught English in Japan for three years. So, we are comfortable with life in other countries. And, we want our kids to grow up with a global perspective. As Mark Twain once said, “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”
