The Space

This home situated in the Centro is truly a one-of-a-kind oasis in San Miguel. This architectural gem was designed with tranquility and privacy in mind.

You will be enchanted the moment you enter this luxurious sanctuary nestled in the lush courtyard, with its cascading gardens and 100+ year old Mesquite tree.

Entering the stunning Casita TOPAZ, you enter a different world - not that of Colonial Mexico, as you might expect, but rather the beauty of Morocco.

This spacious, Moroccan-inspired Queen bed casita with its large, open floor plan, has colorful interiors, high ceilings, with windows and skylights that bathe the apartment with lots of natural sunlight. Enjoy evening cocktails on the private terrace while watching the churches illuminate at dusk. On those rare chilly nights, light the beautiful (hand carved) fireplace for those cozy and romantic evenings at home.

The integrity and elegant design of this gem is unquestionable: It includes floor-to-ceiling beveled glass windows, warm/soft lighting, stone floors, Talavera tile, hand carved columns and several niches displaying fine art/sculptures.

Uncompromising attention to detail was given to this majestic property by the previous owner (a well known architect). Using only the finest materials, local master artisans have skillfully crafted your 'home away from home.'

Rarely will you find an upscale apartment in the Centro that offers this level of style and sensual sophistication, combined with its convenient location and magnificent vistas of Historic San Miguel.

Our Casitas have all the modern amenities of home:
40 in. flatscreen Samsung Smart Televisions with tons of Apps as well as traditional Mexican cable

  • We were a bit dismayed when we entered, and realized that it was basically just one big room. The pictures leave an impression of hallways and at least a bedroom, but that turns out to be the hallways of the common area. A floor plan would be useful. This is one unit of a three unit condo. The view is also a bit misleading, because the picture appears to have been taken by someone standing on a chair. If you sit down in the patio area, that dome thing blocks almost all the view. The place was very clean and modern, and apart from a loud party next door our second night, it was quiet.

    Response from Elizabeth:

We appreciate Bill's feedback and have now labeled the photos so our guests can clearly decipher what the layout is within the casitas as well as the property as a whole. We do our best to give our guests the best vacation experience possible and having their expectations met is certainly a big part of that so we're sorry for that confusion.

  • I had decided very impromptu to rent a place in San Miguel de Allende to finish a book I am writing. I looked at all the places on Airbnb, but as soon as I saw the pictures of Casita Topaz I immediately loved it's beautiful design, felt strongly drawn to it, and knew it was the perfect place for me.

Elizabeth was wonderful in every way, right from her 1st email to me...kind & genuine, helpful with advice about the best way to get there, and even sent me emails with information of fun & interesting things to do while I was there.

When I arrived, it was even more beautiful in person than in the pictures. They truly don't do it justice! I took many myself and they never captured just how unique, special and beautiful it is. From the moment you enter the main door on the street, you step into a different world... lush with plants & flowers everywhere, Moroccan style lanterns hanging from a huge tree, beautiful tiled steps leading down to a courtyard with a small bubbling fountain, and then more leading up to a beautiful loggia which overlooks the whole town. It truly is magical! And just as the name implies, Topaz is a true gem. It is cozy, warm and inviting, with every single detail adding to it's splendor... from the beautiful carved arches & fireplace, to the vintage Moroccan rugs and lights throughout, the unique artwork, furniture, and decorative pieces, and the comfy bed and huge arched windows leading to the private terrace. Even the bathroom was great, with vintage brass fixtures, Moroccan style tiles and lights, and supplied with plush towels and bathrobes! :) It is truly the perfect place for a romantic getaway, or for the creative, artistic person wanting to escape from the distractions of their everyday life for awhile, and be in a place that is beautiful, nurturing, and inspiring. I can't recommend it enough!

From the very beginning, Elizabeth did everything to ensure I had a comfortable and wonderful stay. And near the end, she came down for a few days to take care of a few things, and bring some more beautiful pieces she had found for Topaz and the other Casitas. I was so happy we were able to meet in person, and we quickly became friends. I was very sad to leave San Miguel & Casita Topaz, which had become my haven and felt like home from the very beginning. But I know I will return some day, and when I do, I will definitely stay there again.

  • Our time in the beautiful Casita Topaz was magical!! Elizabeth made it possible for us to feel at home in the most beautiful surroundings. It would be impossible to put into words the magic and peace we felt during our stay. We shall always treasure our time there and yes, we will return again and again to the magic of San Miguel De Allende and to the peace we found in Casita Topaz. So much creativity took place during our time there for we were inspired to paint, draw, write and both Jody and I are ever so grateful we found this wonderful home away from home. Thank you Bebe!!

The "Jewels of San Miguel" is a joint partnership between myself and two other very active co-owners. One owner, Beth, is retired, the second, my sister Gay, works in the Oil Industry and I work for United Airlines as a Flight Attendant. We love the Jewels and hope to spend our retirement years going back and forth from the USA and Mexico, but in the meantime, we invite you to share our lovely casitas.
