We contacted the host 3 times on Airbnb (first message was 4 weeks, second message was 4 days, and third message was 3 days before arrival), but we never got a reply. The location wasn't exact on Airbnb. Only gives the name of the street I guess, Strada Podul Crețului, without mentioning "31", so we got lost with the cab driver who nicely offered to call the hostel and get directions using his Romanian mobile line. When we arrived, a lady walked us to a room we didn't book. We told her it's not the one, and then she took us to another which looked more like what we wanted when seen in the pictures and booked. After that a guy came to us saying the host is asking us to pay 90 RON. We explained that we already paid on airbnb, but in vain!! Had to go for 5 min while the guy is on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) with the host until probably the host finally checked his airbnb account ( remember the 3 messages? Seems we were not expected nor known of when we arrived).
At check out at 12:00pm, the same guy was sleeping, we could see him through the glass door, nobody else to talk to. Knocked to give him the key, he didn't care about taking it, just said to leave it anywhere while still sleeping in bed. We asked how to get a taxi, he gave us a number while half asleep which looked incorrect, so we didn't use it and walked down the road few 100s of meters with our luggage to find a taxi which is not very frequent it seems at the area. Obviously we never met the host or got in touch with us.
The whole thing is like a dormitory. Not a true airbnb hosting experience. The room is spacious and modern, but basic. There were no towels so we had to ask for. No cups to drink with, a fridge, tissues, or other basics. You have to walk down to the shared kitchen to get a cup. (Important to note that you have to wash anything before using it as kitchen items seemed very dirty).
The Wifi signal was below average.
The balcony's old and cracked wooden fence had 2 cross-panels missing resulting in a massive hole, not safe for families with little kids.
Some areas are not exactly as they seem in the pictures, and some others are closed with a lot of scrapped stuff dumped in them. The distance from the black church is 34.5 min (calculated without stops and picture-taking), so not 10 min as advertised.
Overall we didn't mind much because we stayed for 1 night, but if you're planning to stay longer, then know and prepare yourself.
