WARNING!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!! - We were robbed at this place, Twice, by the staff or with their complete complicity. Read on....
But that's not all, when we showed up we needed to go buy cockroach spray because the place was covered in them...and I mean huge 3" long cockroaches. Not one or two, but an infestation with insect feces around the walls.
The entire villa was musty and smelled of moth balls and ant tablets, neither of which were effective. We figured we would give the benefit of the doubt to the place, especially realizing we were in the jungle, and went out to explore the city. Upon returning, all of our cash left behind had been stolen and our belongings gone through. Only our U.S. dollars remained. We then left for dinner, discussing whether we should call the police or report the theft to the villa manager. When we came back, three of us had all our American cash stolen, jewelry, and our bags were clearly rifled through yet again. We had absolutely ensured all doors and windows were locked and bolted.
When we approached the kid who was at the front desk, he noticeably had a drug problem and sported the longest coke finger we have ever seen (we are all defense attorneys who deal with these types on a daily basis). The kid hung out with a cancellous gang who resides RIGHT NEXT DOOR. The whole location was unsafe and no where near the center of town as advertised.
The manager and the front desk kid blatantly lied when we confronted them, and they began panicking when we asked who would have had access to the place because they had the only other key. (There was no forced entry, and only one other key besides ours).
The owner showed up and also concluded that a theft did occur and that whoever stole from us had intimate access. The manager said the staff didn't do it because he made them pray at the temple. Really?? This is after even he caught the staff lying. He then proceeded to string us along, saying he would call the police and issue a refund. He stopped communicating with us and never issued a refund even though we left right away because of the condition of the location and then safety. He has yet to issue a refund. I suspect he too is covering for what seems to be a family members.
In UBUD there are lots of closer places with better access, and safer.
Although a bit surprised at first - as this is more of a private resort consisting of 2 houses of 2 hotel rooms each than an actual villa - and annoyed by the fact that the pool was not cleaned at all - we finally settled in and had a pleasant stay once the staff cleaned the pool.
The place is about 2 km up the hill from Ubud (20-30 min walk down to Ubud) in a quiet neighborhood, with some food places around (try Luwak cafe). The villa is just lacking a common place (like a dinning room) in case of rain, and could deserve a bit of maintenance but remains a fair deal for the price.
We stayed three night at Taman (website hidden) was great experience because there was huge private villa just for (website hidden) is located just 2km north from Ubud Palace.Room was clean but one of them was little bit dark whole day.
The villa is like a beautiful paradise in the surroundings of Ubud. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. We had a great time staying in the resort. It can be a little tricky to find the villa but it's possible that is because our driver was not very aware of the area. The breakfast feels blissful because they serve it in patio and its very relaxing to enjoy the morning sun with a simple meal. I would recommend anyone who is looking for some quite time away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta to try this resort.
We really loved our stay in Ubud, in great part to the villa: The staff at the villa were great. We felt royally spoilt for the 6 nights we stayed. The setting, the hospitality, the delicious breakfast. We'll happily recommend this place to all our friends
Wonderful place ! The house is very nice, clean, quiet. The house ist away from lively ubud (1,2km) and we have appriciated. With a scooter, it's easy. We can enjoy massage by the pool. The little warung across the road is ok and they bring the dishies in your room if you want.
We arrived late at night, and from what we saw, the grounds looked lovely. Unfortunately, the villa was not completely clean. There was insect feces on the bed and a lot of it on a frame hanging above the bed (my husband is an entomologist, so he is easily able to recognize it). We were traveling with our baby and didn't feel comfortable sleeping there with her, particularly because of the insect feces in the bed, so we changed to another hotel that night.
