Sunset Valley Holiday Houses consists of a collection of six authentic Malay houses, all found on Langkawi island, and reconstructed onsite with modern kitchens and bathrooms in a beautiful tropical landscaped property.

The space
The Gate house is a very comfortable “home” for two guests with a separate bedroom, bathroom with hot shower and lounge-room/kitchen.
A third person could be accommodated on the sofa bed in the lounge room if needed. The Gate house has a nice private patio on one side adjacent to the gateway into Sunset Valley
The Gate house is fully equipped with all appliances such as refrigerator, 2 stove burner as well as cutlery, crockery, bath and beach towels and of course bed linen.
Beautiful bamboo screens outside the main windows of the kitchen, lounge and bedroom provide delightful shade from the afternoon sun, both cooling the house and giving added privacy.
The house is ideal for 2 persons, but can accommodate up to 3 adult or a family of 2 adults and one child.
Although air-conditioning is available as an optional extra charge, it is rarely needed because the ceiling fans installed in the bedroom and the lounge room provide excellent cooling air circulation.
But please be aware that even when using the air-conditioning the rooms will never be as cold as you may want or expect. Especially during the hot, dry season from December through April, air-conditioners may become overloaded and need to turn off for a short while before they can be switched on again.

Sunset Valley has a swimming pool and a pavilion perfect for a BBQ or a drink to enjoy the magnificent sunsets.

Our pool with two sundecks and the pavilion with BBQ facilities are very popular among our guests and perfect for family and friend gatherings.
We have a small convenience shop on the property where our guests can buy some food and drinks.
We offer free parking and excellent wifi throughout the property.
Our beautiful gardens and surroundings are designed to allow an ecological balance with the result that there are remarkably few mosquitoes, as our resident geckos and tokays keep them in check. Nevertheless Malaysia is a tropical country with mosquitoes and sand flies being ubiquitous. The design of our traditional Malay wooden houses, enabling maximum airflow makes it somewhat unavoidable that mosquitoes find their way into the house. We provide mosquito nets, mosquito sprays and electric mosquito dispensers.
The native trees and flowers attract many birds, squirrels and occasional amazing Asian lemurs that glide from tree to tree. Bird watchers and nature lovers can find much to observe with frogs, monitor lizards, skinks, horn-bills, orioles, azure kingfishers, drongos, white-breasted sea-eagles, brahminy kites, cattle-egrets and many other species frequently spotted here in Sunset Valley.
We also have 3 very friendly and playful dogs and 2 beautiful cats. All our animals are all rescued on Langkawi island.
